Will you buy the Brink Guide when it comes out?

Post » Fri Sep 03, 2010 11:11 am

I just found out that http://www.gamemania.nl/Default.aspx?tabid=88&gmgame=25484 made for a Brink Guide that's going to be released 20th of May, one week after the release of Brink.

Are you guys buying it?
I think I'm going to, might have some things in it you don't notice while playing.

I have to ask, what's the point of buying a guide?
Everything will be on the net within a few days.

I'd rather find my own way then depend on something else.

What's the point? It's not like the game has super secret strats or items that can be stolen of X boss or kissable achievements. And even if it did *looking at you blue dragon* I'll just go to xbox360 achievements to find what I missed

Only time I've ever needed help in a video game...I used the internet. Not worth shelling out an extra 20-30 bucks for the book version.

Guides tend to be $10-$20 which is a huge chunk of cash considering that a game costs $60. Ive never bought a guide for a game and even if I wanted to know something the internet will have everything up a week after the game is out lol.

Probably not, since everything I want to know that I don't know will more likely be up on the Internet

That audio log? Internet

Good builds? Internet

How to get away from the screen? Internet

I doubt that the game guide will be as necessary as the Fallout guides, but when i need one i'll use wikia or something like that. the achievements dont seem to hard, and how to unlocks specific gear will be available on wikia / youtube. so i say no :)

Definitely will be picking it up!

It might sounds crazy, but I actually love guides, Not necessarily for their usefulness, but alot of them contain really nice bits of information and are usually filled with nice artwork!

When it came out, I bought Shadowrun and the Guide book with it, and it was amazing! I didn't really care for the "tips" so much as the maps and developer notes. Im really into that sort of stuff. Particularly the maps because of how detailed they are :D

Why in the world would you need a guide? The whole point of a guide is to show you there all the powerups and items and sidquests and best weapons are.

In BRINK, they're all in the challenges.

We won't tell anyone if you actually stoop low enough to buy a guide...

Nah, I've learned to avoid game guides. I don't have problems when it comes to actually playing. And most of the time, I accidentally read too far and spoil something from the story.

I like to buy the guides for my favourite games, but not to use them; I just like to collect them.

So I'll probably get one.

No thanks. Out of all the guides I bought, the only useful one was for Assassins Creed Brotherhood.

If you have been here as long as some of us have, then I doubt a guide is necessary. The people here on the forums are knowledgeable enough to write a guide far better then a retail copy. Also a paper guide wont account for any patch changes down the road.
