Will You buy the Skyrim immidiatelly after release?

Post » Mon Jun 20, 2011 4:16 pm

Hello. We all know that any Beth game after it hit's stores, almost always have a lot of bugs that sometimes are critical.
These bugs get's patched after some days after release - this is what always happen.
Because of that i was wondering if it is a good idea to wait, until Skyrim will get patched up. I can't believe that so big project like Skyrim will be perfect at the beginning.
I am so eager to put my hands on this game and can't barely wait any longer, but when i will buy it immidiatelly - there is huge risk that some critical bugs (like save game corruption etc.) can break up my gameplay.
So maybe it is really a good idea to wait some time until we got at least first patch, or even wait enough for next patch(es) to have things much better. (One reason for that is some patches for Beth games, require to start a new game)

I played Obivion quite a bit after release which in some ways probably made me appreciate the game more, as there was already an abundance of mods available.

I very much doubt i'll be doing the same thing with Skyrim though. I'll be playing it on release day for certain.

I'll wait to see some more feedback and so I can ask questions and get sound answers about the game before I buy it. Bugs aren't that important to me, but I'd prbably wait until the first (and probably only) patch. I'm only 66% sold on the game as it is.

Unless someone is on a tight budget, physically incapable of getting the game, or just isn't thrilled about Skyrim, I don't see any other reasons to not get it on its release date. Sure there will be bugs but that's what patches are for.

Honestly I had Fallout 3 since day 1 and I never noticed a bug for a month and it was the type of bug that I can live with. So yeah, I will be getting the collector's edition day 1.

Yes, I will buy it immediately after release... but I might not play it immediately. It depends on certain things. I wouldn't want to play the game until mods come out if there's no in-game option to disable forced third-person finishing moves for instance... or no way to disable the compass icons.

Those things would destroy my gaming experience so much that I wouldn't want to play the game with them.

Where is the Preordered option?

I don't get games right AFTER release if I preorder them, I get them ON Release. :flamethrower:
Collectors edition upgrade when it comes out but I paid it off 2 days after release

I voted #3, but its only hypothetical... I've not decided to buy the game yet ~and may not.
(Certainly not until after February.)

I'm still undecided. I'll probably buy it the day of, or soon after release, but I probably won't play it much until the talented modders replace the hud.

First day, immediate purchase for me. I never bought Oblivion right away mainly because I wanted to play the game on a PC I hadn't built yet and just dreaded the thought of playing it on the xbox 360 (no offense to consolers). This time around for Skyrim, i'll be ready and waiting since I'm building a new PC specifically for all the new upcoming releases, Skyrim included.
