Will you ever play Oblivion again?

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 4:57 am

I picked "probably" but really you should have added an option called "I hope not" because I want Skyrim to satisfy me fully so I never look at Oblivion again :)

Quick question, sorry to hijack the thread but can someone tell me if Skyrim contains lush green forest/fields like Cyrodil? I'm not too keen on frozen barren places. Thanks

There will be trees and stuff in skyrim its not all frozen over. "i hope not" doesnt really fit with the other options but i want to put visit old character for those who didnt want to put probably, but know they might play it at some point.

No way, never again. After all this time I can finally say goodbye to that game...

Lost my taste for Oblivion a long time ago. Haven't felt the urge to go back for years.

I never did finish the MQ for Morrowind though, I tried to go back to that a few months ago. But it didn't hold my attention. May try again some day.

For me it'll probably end up being like the Fallout 3 - Fallout New Vegas type situation I'll play Skyrim, do everything I can in it (eventually) and then be tempted back to the older games for that good old 'This is what I started with' feeling. Which is the main reason why I'm playing Fallout 2 at school (unfortunately it does not run off my flashdrive if the computers OS is W7)

Yep. I haven't played the Nehrim mod yet and will check back from time to time to see what the Oblivion modding community is up to.

I'll also go back to enjoy a nice horseback ride in 1st person and to watch my demon rabbit Fu-Fu (yep, he's just like the Monty Python rabbit - complete with bloody fur, aerial assaults, and thunderous roaring) take down anything in his way. I'm gonna miss him.....Maybe he'll find me in Skyrim?

I also still need to further explore and experience Morrowind. So I will be going back to there as well.

But, in less than 24 hours, Skyrim will own my little butt for many hours to come!

I will, but not for a while. Especially because I had to wipe my computer entirely and I lost my saves, my mods, etc. I still play Morrowind, and I'm not gonna abandon that either.

Probably not. I have a feeling that after playing Skyrim, it would be difficult to go back to Oblivion. Not only this, but with the amount of content in Skyrim, plus mods, my time will be somewhat restricted.

Never finished oblivion, never liked it. Main quest was too repetetive. <3 Morrowind forever

Same here.

Well not quite. I finished it, but I never actually enjoyed the last quest.

I might go back to it but not for a very very very long time. I will go back to Morrowind though quite often.

Probably not. It was bland as hell and I've seen everything there is to see. There's nothing waiting for me in Cyrodiil anymore.

Not anymore, no.

Oblivion used to be fun, but now it's repetitive.

I don't understand the attitude of some gamers who put aside one game when a new game in a series comes out. To me, if a game was worth playing last year it is worth playing today and if it's worth playing today it will be worth playing next year.

When a new book is published by an author I enjoy reading I don't stop reading the author's older works. When a director whose works I have enjoyed in the past I releases a new film I don't stop watching his or her old films. Why would I stop playing a game permanently merely because a new game in a series has been released?

Only to visit my old favourite locations. Played it to death, I couldn't do another playthrough now.

Perhaps for old time sake... once or twice... I like the oblvion storys and what not, we shall have to see what they are like in Skyrim.
It's kinda like saying do people still play daggerfall or Morrowind...yes, there are people who do.

Probably after the intial obsession with Skyrim dims. I have too much unfinished business. On the other hand , if the gameplay is really improved,it may be for really short spurts like happened to me with Morrowind.

Probably not. I think all the things I loved in Oblivion will be better done in Skyrim.
