Will you ever play Oblivion again?

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 4:31 pm

Oblivion was the best RPG i have ever played in my life. The most realistic and open game where you could do pretty much anything, or at least a whole lot more then any other game. But Skyrim looks so good that it may make oblivion feel kinda crappy going from the best quality ES back to Oblivion.

The graphics just look so much better, magic seems to be way cooler, probably new better items and artifacts. It will all just 1-up oblivion in every way and some more.

Skyrim is essentially what Bethesda wanted to do with Oblivion.
So no, I won't be playing Oblivion again. While I'll always like it for the fact that it introduced me to the ES series, I've just lost all interest in it.

I tried getting back into Oblivion a few weeks ago. I've spent hundreds of hours playing it. But this last time was just boring for me, even with a hundred mods installed. I can download it from steam if I ever want to play it again, but I probably won't.

I'd might go back to oblivion just to say hi to my level 53 Nordic warrior and do some fav quests.

I sincerely doubt it.

Especially since I lost my character saves when we upgraded from an XBox Elite to an Xbox Slim a month or so back.

While I'll mostly stick to Morrowind and Daggerfall, I intend to keep playing Oblivion now and then.

I don't think I will, Skyrim is just a beautiful game and although Oblivion was good, the new things in Skyrim are the things that will keep me there. I finished the main quest of Oblivion last week for the first time and I didn't really like it. Also it's not really a game I would like to spend hours and hours more in. so probably not

I played it tonight also, but will you play it after Skyrim?

I lost most of my characters so my highest character is only a level 20 but he is still pretty powerful. If i ever feel like being a god :gun: with overpowered spells that instantly kill anyone in my path i think i will play oblivion for a day.

But i think i will play Skyrim enough that my Skyrim character will be better then my Oblivion one so then there would be no point for me.

No. Oblivion was my placeholder between Morrowind and Skyrim.

You mean the nature that should, by the lore present in previous games, be thick jungles, and not serene English countryside?
I won't miss it too much.

Eh. I'm more bitter about Oblivion than I though I was.

Nahh Oblivion was dissapointing in many aspects. I hope Skyrim is much better so theres no need to get back to worse part.

Maybe to try out Integration - The Stranded Light or whatever it's called, I haven't played that mod yet. But probably not.

Of course. I'll still play Daggerfall and Morrowind as well.

Each new TES game doesn't automatically trump the last. They're all different, and all have their pros and cons.

Probably not. Oblivion, for me, doesn't have the kind of magical atmosphere that keeps me coming back to Morrowind.

This pretty much.

Daggerfall has better dungeons than any TES game, and is worth playing for its dungeons alone.

We had some good times, we had some bad times, but now it has come to an end. Farewell Oblivion, it was fun while it lasted.

I picked "probably" but really you should have added an option called "I hope not" because I want Skyrim to satisfy me fully so I never look at Oblivion again :)

Quick question, sorry to hijack the thread but can someone tell me if Skyrim contains lush green forest/fields like Cyrodil? I'm not too keen on frozen barren places. Thanks
