I assume you refer to the magic-map type.. so no, after having been given the lovely taxi system in some form, I'm happy to say that I wont be using the magic map :D

For me it depends on the combat system. If the combat is as good as I hope, I'll be walking around for any chance at beating the crap out of something. If it's not so good, I'll be fast-traveling to get at the quest content as quickly as possible.

In Oblivion, I was DEFINITELY a fast-traveler.

I always say to myself "I'm not using fast travel this time" and then after clearing a dungeon I look at the map and think "That's a long way to the city" and I end up using it all the time

Use Fast Travel? Of course, this is a role-playing game not a world simulation. I play the game in first-person mode so I can experience the world through the character's eyes, and don't use fast travel all of the time, but... Any role playing game which doesn't allow for a "fast forward through the boring parts of the story" option is like a poorly edited novel and has very little appeal to me. I view the map-based fast travel as simply the way to switch between what would be called tactical and strategic modes in the old-fashioned, pen-and-paper RPGs. After I've found and looted the dungeon, I sometimes I want to look for more adventure or return to the city at leisurely pace, but other times I just want to get to the nearest merchant, sell my loot, and then do something else. I wouldn't mind if you could get interrupted from the map-based fast travel with a random encounter. The Daggerfall and Morrowind fast-travel options combined would be ideal from my perspective and it sound like that's what Skyrim will be giving us.

If by "Fast Travel" you mean "Use a common-sense paid travel service that is part of a fast travel network that only provides access to cities and large villages", then Yes, I will.

If by "Fast Travel" you mean "Use a magical map that teleports me to any destination that I have ever been to for free (time is not a cost since there are time contraints on anything)", then No, I will not.

You should clarify so that I can cast my vote...

This, if i can fast travel like Morrowind. But if not I won't, and hopefully it will make more sense than in Oblivion (Why would the fighters guild in Anvil tell me to go to Bravil to do a quest? The quest should be in Bravil!)

I'll use only the carriage system, I got a Morrowind vibe from the trailer and I want that to resonate in the actual game itself, the carriage system will help with that.

carraige system for me. if there are particularly repetitive quests like the mages guild quests to gain access to the spell altars like in oblivion then i might use the magic system. other than that i have no desire to use the map if an alternative is already in game.

Being an explorer at heart i find that fast travelling everywhere ruins the experience, so i will most likely not be fast traveling constantly.

With the confirmation of a hub-linked fast travel system, you should put an option up to reflect that.

Personally, I'm not sure. I fast traveled all the time in Oblivion, much less in Fallout 3, and literally NEVER (And that's in hundreds of hours of game-time) in Fallout: New Vegas.

It depends on the world, how intelligently the terrain is and how accessible important regions are. I will definitely avoid fast traveling if possible though. I think the chief reason why I did it so much in Oblivion, was the whole copy-pasta and "Locked" feel the game had.

Definitely not during my first playthrough. I want to absorb the beautiful landscapes that await.

Poll is biased, Fast Travel is not a magical map that let's you teleport to where you have been before. Your trying to ridicule people into picking your preference. Pathetic.

I won't use fast travel at all if it is the lame map based thing. If they have some Morrowind style fast travel then I will. Or I will just wait for mods that make it like Morrowind.

All the time. I spent hundreds of hours in fallout 3 and oblivion using fast travel all the time and I still have to find each place first so there really is no point in running from one side of the map to the other and maybe encountering 3 random goblins and finding some steel armour. Fast travel is a fantastic feature. Oh and I do still love the games and the worlds

Once I have walked from a particular town to a particular dungeon, and walked back, I have no problem as far as immersion is concerned, in believing my character now knows the way, and has a fast and safe route that I as the player can skip for the sake of real world convenience.
Doesn't mean I will always do this, In OB I only fast travel to and from stables and inns, so may do the same in Skyrim.

No, it's a magical map that let's you teleport to many places you haven't been before.

I'm sceptical of anyone who suggests they'll never use it. I'll never be able to prove it but I'm willing to bet that anyone will fast travel between two points if the alternative is to trek over, through and around mountains for an hour, after twenty hours of game play, to pass a message onto an npc.

It's like saying you would play the sims game and everyday your sim went off to work and left the house empty, you sat and watched the screen in the default time because you felt fast forward was cheating.

aIt's feature by design, it's not cheating.
