This thread needs a 'neither' option.

In-game. I've tried playing my own music before in games but it usually blocks out too much ambient sound. Like the song for when I'm under attack by wolves that I can't see yet, or the sound when someones creeping up behind me to shoot me in the head.
Not to mention the game's probably going to sound great and I don't want to miss out.

If I was on a good PC, I'd put DF, Morrowind and Oblivions music into one. :sadvaultboy:
But I'm not so.... I will be listening to my music and Soule's soul. Mostly the latter. :spotted owl:

In game music just enough to hear how it is then after that no music.

In-game, most of what i listen to would ruin the setting/vibe the game intends. I really don't get why other's like listening to music that screams at you while you're just casually exploring....

I never really listened to personal music when I play RPG's, In-game soundtracks is partly what gets me immersed.

I'm torn between this and no music from the start.

In game music, I did that for TESIV:Oblivion all the time until the quality and quality of mods I was installing in my game forced me to disable that to increase performance, and I had continued that process for Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas.

But I am building a brand new computer now, so I will once again be able to play the sound track created for the game, to this day I have never heard the ones for Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas.

And with the http://elderscrolls.com/skyrim/media/videos/official-trailer-4/, that has been out for TESV:Skyrim, I Think It Is A Must to be able to listen to it and play. :)

You'd be crazy not to listen to in-game music; it's always awesome. I never listen to my own music while playing TES, except for the Pixies; I'm obsessed with them.

After listening to the in game music for the first 150 hours, I think I would get tired of it and move to some of my personal music.

the in-game music is there for a reason, it makes you live yourself a bit deeper into the game. as it fits the game.

Usually ingame first. If i find it gets annoying after a while, like Oblivion now, then i`ll listen to some atmospheric soundtracks from movies like Braveheart, Conan etc. and if i`m in a bloodythirsty or agressive frame of mind then the metal comes out :mohawk:

Both simultaneously. I'm gonna play some slayer combined with the soothing casual music of Jeremy Soule. Perfect for watching the birds fly by and walking alongside friendly giants in the tundra. Oh, by the way, just kidding. In-game music only for me.

I usually play in-game music but now and then have to use my own playlist of songs I think fit the game I am playing. Haven't thought of anything in-particular for Sjyrim, other than 'Immigrant Song' by Led Zep.

Like I've said before, I'm definitely gonna be playing the LOTR soundtracks while doing certain things. It'll be so fitting. :disguise:

Neither, because my real life doesn't have a soundtrack either. The thought of an orchestra following me through the woods is too hilarious for immersion.
