will you do male or female character ?

Post » Wed Jul 21, 2010 4:44 am

You realy find these characters attractive? Thats just weird.

Maybe Im just to old. But I see people talking about the girls in every game lately and I find it disturbing. I mean there is no shortage of porm on the internet. Why ogle a poorly animated fictional character? Why would you want to be aroused during a game? Why arnt you embarrassed to admit you like pixelated ass?

Why does it disturb you so much that people find pixels to be hot?

Wow i will always play as a male character. I think its wrong to play or role play on the opposite six.

Elaborate.

...

And just how wrong is it? I'm a male, yet I'm perfectly okay with playing a woman in NV.

You act like it's terrible if the person blasting their way across the Mojave Desert was a female. My NV female character named Ellen Gibson would like a word with you.

Although the guy getting busted on youtube faping to a night elf was hilarious.

Well, actually, you watched the guy fapping on a night elf so...

Well, male. I usually play as my real gender in the games I play. Sure thing, I have nothing against playing as female - I've got plenty of games where you play as a female by default. But given the choice, I will almost always play as a male :)

I'm usually my self on a first playthrough so male but I generally make a female to switch things up abit on a second run. Evil melee chick, etc.

Guys who think it's weird to play as a girl in RPGs is one of the funniest phobias I've ever seen. Like it's going to turn them gay overnight, reveal some weird Freudian thoughts or make their genitalia disappear.

I like playing chicks in video games. Not because of the whole "durr i want somtin gewd teh look at!" argument but because I just like playing as women.

That argument svcks anyway. If you like playing as chicks then that's cool. You don't have to defend yourself. To be honest I identify with women more than men anyway.

inb4 I play guys cuz i'm a guy!!! macho tough manly men in this game!!! :flamethrower:

I used to think the same way. However, when I played the first Uncharted and I saw that blond character I thought to myself "Self, if she were a real woman (and I believe she is modeled after one) I'd do things to her that would make Ron Jeremy blush". So I tend to think it's more along those lines, that people aren't attracted to the pixels, but the idea of someone who looks like those pixels IRL.

OT: Most of my characters will be female. I tend to make characters based on my favorite tv/movie heroines so I'll have a Sarah Walker and Olivia Dunham for my good characters, trying to emulate how I feel those fictional characters would react in the fallout world. My evil runs will be male characters of which I've not yet decided who to model them after.

In Fallout 3 I played as a female once just to try the black widow perk, and to see the different speech options I could get.
Surprisingly the female didn't have that many, the male had more. Then again, I think I just counted wrong.

I'm definitely going to play a male at first; who could pass up dressing in a nice suit and running around New Vegas having shootouts with gangsters in casinos? :P

I'll probably do my female, melee-only (and crossbows, if they have them!) "Buffy" playthrough again as my second run-through though. Plus, as mentioned, running through once with Lady Killer and a second time with Black Widow lets you experience dialog options you would have missed if you used one gender exclusively.

The Black Widow perk gives 11 dialogue opportunities while Lady Killer only gives 7 dialogue opportunities. Also there are many more male enemies (like Raiders, Talon Company and Enclave forces) than female ones. Black Widow was head and shoulders above Lady Killer which, as I stated before, is the reason I mostly had female characters.

Huh, you know, I remember looking up perks for New Vegas on The Vault wikia a while back, and I think I remember seeing two perks listed that gave the same effects of Black Widow/Ladykiller, but to the same six.

*checks the wikia* Yup, Cherchez La Femme for females, and Confirmed Bachelor for males.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Cherchez_La_Femme
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Confirmed_Bachelor

I have to wonder if these are confirmed as actually in the game or not.

Female chars should need to stay in a kitchen atleast 3 game hours per day, or they die. Yeah...

Almost all of my characters in Fallout, and almost half in Oblivion have been female, so I see no reason to stop now. Maybe one day I'll use a male character, but not on the first one.

I usualy start out with a "good" female character then later I make an asshat male character that does everything the good character chose not to.

I find the thought of "Its weird to play the opposite six" funny. As a long time female gamer I mostly have had to the games I love as a guy, no choice in the matter. It doesn't mean I'm a girl that wants to be a guy.

Anyways, I'll play my first playthrough heroic guy (I'm use to it) and my second playthrough as myself.

Male first then female, I like to see the different way the world reacts. Good games do it but do so subtly...

That and I have my murderous female character to carry on (she killed everyone in DC, bless)

So erm, both.

Female, because I am and the best games let you choose female if you are.

And I like seeing so many guys getting in touch. I feel the same way.

See you in the desert.

I've mostly played as a woman in Mass Effect(2), Morrowind, Oblivion, and most other games given a choice, but for some reason, I mostly stuck with my African American badass mohawk dude in Fallout 3, and just now created a unarmed-only female. Odds are, though, I'll probably go female in New Vegas, depending on the choices.
