Will you miss it?

I'm all for the new atmosphere of Skyrim. It is a new game. But won't you guys miss the warm sunsets of Cyrodil? The beautiful light reflecting off the waters of Anvil?

Let's post some of our greatest memories or screenshots of Oblivion here, and if you think you will have moments of the same caliber in Skyrim.

I'll start:

This should go in the Oblivion section. And no, I won't miss it. Thank god we're leaving.

For sure. The game did have a very 'summer' vibe about it that was comforting.

I wish we could get dynamic seasons. I understand the work involved with making that happen but it would be worth it in the end for the player.

HINT: I would pay for seasons as a Skyrim DLC and thank them for it.

There is a HUD in at least one of the pictures and there's A LOT of graphical mods out there for Oblivion.

Aesthetically, I believe Skyrim will be more pleasing to the eye. At least if what we have seen is anything to go by. You just have to wait for the best moment for the screenshot.

When I see 2 posts in a row, it generally seems to me that they're putting too much effort into it. Ah well.

I wasn't aware that Skyrim will destroy all copies of Oblivion upon its release, as I'll still be able to make new memories in Cyrodiil.

If it wasnt for the rules I would have used a specific word to describe what he was trying to accomplish. But I have to say "pulling your leg", to be politically correct and all.

edit: looks like he got you to Her Escutcheon... I guess he did a good job, "pulling". lol

Once a new installment in a series comes out, the other games do sort of become memories. Even though you can still play them, you just get that feeling that it's from the past, and you get nostalgic, even though you are actually playing the game.

Eh, probably no one will get what i'm saying haha.

If I start to feel nostaglia for Oblivion after getting Skyrim, I'll go back and play Oblivion, so I'm not too worried about missing the experience, and I expect to enjoy some nice moments in Skyrim too.

You get this feeling like 'you can never go back now.' You can play the game again but it's just not the same. I get it.

I welcome the change of pace. Seeing exotic animals like a Mammoth or traveling through frozen wastelands will be refreshing after all of the mudcrabs and forests.

You're actually being serious aren't you.

You should learn some more about what can be achieved with mods, the hud in the OB photos is smaller because of a mod called Darnified UI. And they aren't even at full rez, a modded OB at 1920 x 1080 with hi rez textures and various enhancements like OBGE-liquid water looks even better.

Here is one example, there are plenty of others. Make sure to play the 1080p version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPJnF-V0-AI&feature=related

It will be a few years before really good graphics mods are developed for Skyrim, but the game that modders play on PCs will look vastly different in a couple of years time.
