will you play male or female?

Post » Wed Aug 17, 2011 9:25 am

I wont answer this ambiguous poll. Will I play female...when? I dont think anybody plays these games making just one character. I'll make a character from each race eventually.

But, if you need to know...my first charcater with which I'll play the main quest will be female.

I mostly play females, unless Im making a special character or doing an alter ego type thing (which is what I did in Dragon Age Origins with the wood elf).

As a lady myself, I always like to roll a female character first. It's just so much fun seeing my gender represented as a kickass warrior / battlemage / whatever, doing things I can't, and doing them just as well as a male character. (: I usually do a male playthrough on most games you get to select your gender in after I've done the female.

will you play male or female?

I will play male. I have never once made a female character in TES.

How about both?

I will probably play 8 - 10 different characters, and I certainly want to try as many different options as I can.

It's possible some dialogue options will only be unlocked with certain NPCs if you have a female character.

This is mentioned everytime this subject comes up, what is it with people and ass-staring instead of actually playing the game?

Because in a game like this while the secerny changes the rearend I'm stuck looking at by game design doesn't, thus I play female characters. Ass-staring as you put it is part of playing the game in third person view. Maybe you're playing the game wrong?

First character is nearly always female..... if a game allows you to choose a gender I normally take advantage of the choice.

Yup.

Said this so many times before, I'm male, human, and I can hit someone or sneak, but my real world magic skills are a bit lacking. Seeing as how it's a role playing game, female, Elf, mage just has to be the way to go.

My first character will be male, but in the end I'll probably have more female characters.

Where's the "both" option?
Cause I'm gonna go male>female>male>female. (And if I still find the game fun enough to play through again then I'll continue with that formula.)
But first is a male, my bosmer character from Oblivion.

I'm gonna play females... Cause they're prettier...

I might make a male bosmer that's really freaking terrified of females though... Just to see if I can roleplay that... ^-^
Yeah... That would be fun... If he's attacked by a female bandit, he runs like hell! And he can't finish a quest if it involves a female...

Anyway, I always play as women whenever I can unless there's a change in the storyline or whatever, then I play as both.

Up to now all my first characters in TES (and Fallout) games were male, but I enjoy switching roles and play a female. I think I'll play female first in Skyrim...

Someone want to tell me why there's not a "both" option?
What, you expect everyone to just play only one character ever?

I tend to start with a female char for my very first playthrough, maybe because I'm female and like to see if they did it right. I played a female char in some other game (can't remember) and the running animation was a little off because she was running with her butt swinging left and right like she was there for seduction. My back hurt just to see her run :sadvaultboy: . Why most games don't base their animations on athletes instead of some impossible fantasy? Anyway, TES mostly get it right and I like the fact that females are not oversixualised.
Like most people, I end up playing both gender too. And for the eye-candy, my males rarely wear any shirt... unless they're caught in a battle. Role-playing is easier if you play a character from the opposite six, IMO.

I'm female but I consider picking a male character when I start playing for the first time. They just look really impressing in the preview videos.
Moreover, I can't stand skinny women wielding 2-handed swords wearing a full plate armor anymore.

Or can I make my female char more athletic-looking resp. muscular-built in the character creation?

Probably male to start off. Don't know why. After that I usually tey and make a female for my second run through to test different gameplay styles, animations, dialogue etc. Unless I come up with a good male character to play as again.

Im probably going to "continue" my characters from Oblivion in the same order. Male Breton Mage, Male Khajit Thief, and then Female Nord Warrior.

Coincidentally, about 30% of respondents will tell you they prefer 3rd person to 1st person play.

I'm usually always female when given the choice, unless the character is voiced etc and I don't like the way she is portrayed (aka Mass Effect). I'll go female on my first playthrough, and maybe if I see situations that could differ regarding the character's gender, I'll go male on my 2nd. Actually I'd kinda love creating a bulky-armed, blue eyed, indimidating nord male. We'll see.

Both. I'll start the game several times with different races/sixes before settling on one for the first playthrough.

I was surprised female doesnt completely outnumber male. In the modding community it seems like there are 5 new female armors to 1 male and that doesnt seem to really bother anyone.
