Will you be playing in third person?

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 7:57 am

I'll be doing as I usually do, first person for combat and [censored], while using third person for sneaking/peaking around corners before attempting an ambush. If, as claimed, third person is 'improved' it might give me reason to use it more, but I don't really see how it could simply be 'improved'.

First person all the way for me. As the old phone company long distance ads used to say, "It's the next best thing to being there."

I just hope when you pull back the bow, the view temporally zooms in to first person. Like a gliding animation sort of.

first exclusively although i will occasionally switch to third if im checking out my new armor or accidentally hit the view switch button. i cant stand most third person games unless its a goofy platformer in which case its usually easier to land on platforms and such in that view.

I'm a big fan of first-person perspective with immersive games. That said, whenever I get my hands on Skyrim I find myself often switching to third. It's really good.

I am going to kill you.........""sobs uncontrolably crying for Skyrim and cries himself to sleep head hitting the keyboard messing everything up""" Holy crap that sounded pathetic lol. I need to get my mom to Pre Order it online for GameStop this weekend.

I always play third person ;)

This, with the exception of sometimes going to first to get a better view of someone or of something, or to perform certain actions like targeting spells etc.

Generally, I use the first person view when I'm being stealthy, and third person when in combat(I got scared to death when an enemy struck me from behind, so I like seeing what's behind me).

No. Never. I hate third-person in two genres - shooters and open-world RPGs.

I intend to use both first and third person perspectives like in all other Bethesda games I played so far.

This.

They'd have to pull off a REALLY EFFING GOOD third person system for me to consider it. First person is usually ALWAYS more emersive, no?

I never use third person indoors, but I'll switch to it occasionally while traveling, just to look at my sixy self.

Most of the time.

But I'll switch to 1st person for epic mountaintop views.

well I'm never scared of that as I always move around enemy so I have always my back covered
try playing DooM3 when they attack you from behind and I'm never surprised I turn around alot of times

well I'm just hardcoe 1. person player :)

I wish ALL games had a first person option; that's how much I love it. I'll occasionally switch to third but my preference is first. Good to hear that third is improved...I'll check it out a bit but I prefer to feel like I'm *in* the game instead of watching an avatar of me playing the game.

No. Gamebryo games that I've played never had a satisfying TPP.

Something about the way the camera moves around. If Divinity 2 wasn't
such an awesome game I would've quit because of this.

While I agree with that, Skyrim is being created using Bethesda's own "Creation engine" and not Gamebryo. Thank every deity ever though of.

In past Elder Scrolls games and Fallot3/NV I primarily used first person, though I would switch to third person occasionally to take a look at my character. Depending on how well it has improved, and if I'm still a floating pair of arms and eyes in first person, I may use it more often.
