I'll probably end up using Fallout 3 as a test bed for whatever random crap I decide I want in New Vegas, making random videos and the like.

When Fallout 3 came out I abandoned Oblivion and haven't been back. But, I don't know with NV. I've also not really played 1 or 2 (I tried but just didn't 'get it'). I've several mods on hold at the moment, but if I can reproduce them in NV easily I'll likely move to that one.
I'll know when I start playing NV whether I'll come back to FO3 or not.

Of coarse I will. FO3 will just be placed down a notch in my rotation. Fallout: NV, FO3, and Stalker.

If New Vegas is everything I have been wanting in Fallout for over 10 years then chances are I won't play FO3 again. I see myself playing FO,FO2, Tactics and New Vegas for years to come but Not FO3. Why, because fallout 3 is missing Damage Thresold, Quest options almost everything is good or evil. It's a great game but does not feel like a fallout game to me. The Ending svcked, I don't learn what happens to the people and placed based on my actions. To me that removes alot of re-playability.

I dunno. I love FO3, but I really need new things to do as a player so I might just move over to NV and stay there. I'm going to sorely miss some things about FO3 though... It will depend on how fun NV turns out to be.

Of course I will play FO3 after NV. I love FO3, it is the game that got me hooked on RPGs and Oblivion. It is amazing and not playing Fo1 or 2 makes it look incredible, despite what others may say.

I have no idea. At this point, I don't even know if I'm getting New Vegas. I've had nearly two nonstop years of Fallout 3. I might skip it and wait until Fallout 4. Maybe I'll just hop back to Oblivion and stay there until TES V is released. Decisions, decisions.

But... why? If money's tight then I can understand, but if it's not, I don't see why not invest hundreds of happy hours in a great game.

Even if you got addicted, I'd still get New Vegas anyway; you might end up regretting not doing so.

4?! What do we know about 4?! I didn't know about this. I thought NV was classed as 4.

Edit: Okay I just looked it up. I don't think there's enough there to even consider it a reality yet, m'self. It's like Kill Bill vol. 3: Yeah, he's talking about it, but don't believe it exists until you've seen it.

It's because of the Steam requirement. I considered buying the 360 version to avoid it but I know me. After playing through it, I'll want to change all of the things I don't like about it and I can't do that with the 360 version and no way on Earth am I buying two copies of NV after buying three copies of FO3. Been there, done that, have the lunchbox to prove it

I have to say, I've not enjoyed a game as much as Fallout 3 for many years. If ever. Really, I hardly play games at all nowadays, but I love it so much I even joined this forum to talk about it. And even wrote an online diary documenting what I did. It captured my imagination in a way no other game has. For me, these are all firsts. But I won't be playing through a second time, though. Mainly due to time constraints, but really because you can't rediscover something once you have already seen it.

So I will definitely be playing only New Vegas. I've even booked the day off work over three months in advance in anticipation of the big day. :huh: Maybe a return to Fallout 3 after a while, but not anytime soon. Even so, I just started playing Secret of Monkey Island again...some 10+ years after it was first released. Only with a significant gap like that can you truly rediscover things again. Its still a classic.

Of course, for Fallout 4...I'll be there....

Nope I overplayed Fallout 3.

I suppose I will know the answer to that question once Fallout NV is in my hands.

I was starting to get burned out on Obliv. and was so glad when Fallout 3 came out. Now same thing.. Starting to get burned out on Fallout 3 and cant wait for Vegas. After a few months break I went back to Obliv and will probably do the same with Fallout 3.

Once I buy NV I probably won't play Fallout 3 for awhile. But I know I'll eventually get nostalgic and come back. I've never played with any mods for Fallout 3. I'm saving up for a nice computer now. I'm pretty confident that once I get NV out of my system, I'll return to Fallout 3, mod it up, and have a blast.

i unconfinently got Oblivion after FO3 i found oblivion more interesting more real in leveling sence with FO3 its kill a enemy or hack or due something less interactive


with oblivion you work on more skills more practical and i realy wish i could play games slower i beat a game like FO3 in a month including side quests.
