Will Your Relationship Suffer Because of Skyrim?

Post » Fri Jul 08, 2011 8:51 am

My friend used to play Oblivion for about 16 hours a day every day for over 3 years and neglected his girlfriend. She dumped him. To say he is an addict is an understatement.

Has anyone elses relationship suffered because of playing rpg games (not just Oblivion, but games like World of Warcraft etc)?

And do you expect to get dumped for being obsessed with Skyrim? Or does this not apply to you?

I plan on splitting up with my girlfriend a day before Skyrim is released. Don't want her yelling at me while I'm playing :D

Um, the further I am from my wife the happier she is, so things will only improve once Skyrim comes out.

Yes, my entire circle of family and friends will crumble around me, I will have no social life whatsoever, and I will have to install a toilet in place of my office chair.

... just kidding, I already have no life. :sadvaultboy:

I talk fast and enjoy making quality driven threads. I have noticed much participation in these threads so I must be doing something right.

If I have a relationship, then that always takes priority over video games, even ones as amazing as the Elder Scrolls.

As for the topic itself, my gf could care less, and we are almost never together anyway, so I will be able to clock in some serious hours without her even noticing. :celebration:
And if she does.... well... I've known TES longer than her :P

First few nights I am going to be playing around with the races and body types and such. I have the whole month of December off so that is when my days will be full.

I wish we they would give us some more info. Still six months away.

I wish we they would give us some more info. Still six four months away.

I have 10 days off work in November, but depending on what the boss wants to do, I might not even be able to play much over them 10 days :sadvaultboy:

However, relationships don't fail because of games - they fail because there are ignored issues and games are merely a way to avoid those issues, which makes the situation worse.

That's my opinion, anyway. ;)

You can join our club. :vaultboy: We may not have girlfriends, but we've got cool forum avatars, which frankly is more important in the modern world.
