[REQz/WIPz] Willowedge Inn

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:05 pm

This looks like a great little house!

It has inspired me to make my own when I finish with what I got already :P

Good luck with this, you have my download when it is finished! :goodjob:

Your texture work is really amazing. Though the tree on the sign doesn't look much like a willow IMHO, I like the stylization.
I never wanted to own a house in Oblivion, let alone an inn, but I'd love to see it in my game anyways. Looking forward to this.

Heya Strider! Sorry I vanished! :P We had a hell of a snow storm here and lost power yesterday. LOL Just got it back a little bit ago so I'm back at work on the Inn, now I can see without a flashlight. :lmao:

No problemo! Take all the time you need. ;) I wonder when insanity will be back so we can hash out some of this quest stuff.

Swiftblade: Thanks for the offer! I don't know if maybe who has any ideas?

Alrighty! I have all the building and cluttering done. :celebration: I'll package this up and send it to you shortly here and include a list of the resources I used as well. I hope you like it. :D

Edit: It's waiting for you in your inbox. Have a lovely stay! :P

Bad news I'm afraid.

My computer is kaput along with all my modding programs. I'm still kind of in shock as I lost most of my music library (12k plus songs) and a good portion of photos and the like. The good news is I backed up most of my mods to a jumpdrive. Including the willowedge inn textures and the partially completed mythic goblins release I was working on.

So I guess somone is going to have to take over the mod from here on out, (I really hope someone does). I can still give my input now and then but I'm relegated to using my girlfriends computer for the time being.

:shakehead: Very bad news indeed. Sadly, neither IS nor I can devote the time needed to finish this right now. I have the Inn though and IS has the scripts he was going to give you so at some point we may indeed get this done in some form or other. Knowing us it's highly likely. :lmao: If you manage to get access to the CS again and are able to work on this, let us know. :foodndrink: That would be the ideal thing as it would be done much sooner that way. LOL I'll cross my fingers for you.

Ahhh thread necromancy!!! :ahhh:

So I finally have a serviceable computer again (thank the nine). Just wondering if anyone was still interested in a player owned/operated inn. I think could be pretty fun, and I'd hate to waste Whoguru and Insanity's work.

That being said, I'm a texture guy who knows little of the construction set, questing, or scripting so I'll need some help. If you like to get involved but fear this thing will never be released, fear not! You can check my sig I've released a bunch of stuff before, including vvardenfell imports which was a huge project and mythic creatures/animals.

So who's inn?!

... couldn't resist.

I myself would love to see this mod come out. I've always liked mods that allowed the play to build something and have it run. I always thought it was nuts that you couldn't do more as a guild master and the idea of running your own business is awesome. I hope this comes out!

Hey that's great news!! Glad you got a new comp that can handle modding again :). I would love to see this mod come out, there's a huge lack of job related things in Oblivion and owning an inn would be fun. What kind of CS work would need to be done? You already have an expert clutterer (WhoGuru) and an expert scripter (IS)....

Well I've planned an out line for the quest with the necessary npcs ... We'll have a custom race and one armor set from vvardenfell imports. I'd like to add the following positions as hireable employees.

Cook - already created her apron (http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz357/themythofanst/NifSkope2010-02-0317-01-05-37.jpg)
Barkeep - He will pretty much run the inn for you.
Blacksmith - who will initiate the quest upon meeting. He's the custom race dude.
Entertainer - Maybe we could add all those great animations to her so she could juggle or play the lute on command, maybe even sing if we could script that somehow and dance most guys like the dancing.
Guard - No worries he'll be tough as nails.

I've tried to cut the quest down so it'll be easier to make, so you won't have to run around to hire each individual npc. After completeing the initial quest one of two ways (one for adventurers / one for lazy-non fighter types) you'll have to meet with the cheydinhall business officer (if anyone can think of a better title let me know), he will then hire the workers for you. Becuase of a new decree by Andel Indarys (duke of cheydinhall) no new inn can open without hiring the necessary employees (to fight unemployment in the area and to combat unfare working conditions). So until you hire all the necessary npcs willowedge inn will be an elaborate player home.

Once you do hire all the employees, you'll be able to do (hopefully) all the funstuff previously mentioned in this thread. Have visiting patrons, get profits from running the inn, stock the bartenders inventory, blah de blah.

The quest to get the inn will be a bit of a morrowind throwback (you know me) but not so much as to break lore or annoy anyone.

Ah this looks great, I would love to see it released (I'm always looking for ways to add new NPC's to the game and cool places to stash my companions; add to it the fact that you work the inn and this sounds like gold :P). The apron texture looks great too, although, and I'm going to have to be careful how I phrase this, I notice two symmetrical-ish flecks/dots/smudges on the chest area that bring to mind... something else. Maybe I'm just weird, but I felt I should share with the modding community that I looked at a grimy apron and what I saw in it was a pair of *COUGH*AHEM*AHCHOO*SNIFF*
...
On a less awkward note... woohoo this better get released :D
