Sounds like advertising alright, in fact sounds like your just trying to generate traffic to your forum. The 'make xxx posts' is a giveaway.

Also, loads of ads on that first page alone, yup, easy to see why you want to encourage more traffic.

I never trust these kinds of competitions. Nine times out of ten the prize is won by some long time user of the forum. Rather than any of those that joined in response to the competition.
