Even though I have uninstalled New Vegas after this problem it was so strange that I thought I'd post this.

After installing New Vegas in my Win 7 64 bit Home Premium system I had the following failure on start up;

The usual start graphic screens would load normally but the mouse pointer was missing. When the program got to the usual start up page (the one with the guy holding the revolver) there was no text of any kind where the start selections would be listed.

I had these problems no matter how I started up the program;

Launching NV Script Extender.
Launching from the Steam library page.
Launching by double clicking on NVlauncher.exe*
Launching by double clicking on FalloutNV.exe*

* in both cases I ran without setting properties and with the properties to run as administrator and Win XP SP 3 compatibility mode.

I also tried running as above without any mods activated with the same results.

This has to be specific to NV and Win 7 because NV ran fine on my older XP system and FO3 runs fine on my current i5 system (with the multi-core fix to the *.ini files).
