Win7 question about cs and saving

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 5:53 am

Ok, so, I forgot to run the cs as an admin (again :swear: ), and when I do that, whatever I save doesn't actually get saved and I can screw myself. I really don't wanna loose a whole day of work, so is there something I could do now before I save my work, so that it actually gets saved? :wallbash:

Thanks.

Edit: So, as Melchior suggested, I set Settins of the user account to "never notify", but that requires me to restart the PC, so it's a no go for this current session (even tho it will probably save this young [censored] from future mess-ups).

That http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/781497-vistawindows-7-problems/ is your problem. Just reinstall Morrowind, but outside of any C:\Program Files related folder and C:\Games\ is a good path to use. :)

I don't see a problem with it. Some people already said the same with my past problems, but few members here always found a solution for every problem related to that installation path. Also, in any other installation path, MGE doesn't work.

Besides, even if I'd install it someplace else, that still didn't solve the problem of how to save my current cs session. :P

Think you might be out of luck as to the current session, unfortunately.

And who said MGE didn't work in any other installation path? I use C:\Games\ for my Morrowind install, and MGE works just fine for me.

The problem is with that path is that you need to either turn off UAC in Windows (some people won't do that and I'm not saying that you're one of them) or run every install program in the C:\Program Files(x86) folder as an admin, because if not your problem you have now is never gonna to be fixed unless a complete reinstallation of entirely Morrowind including CS is carry out.

If you didn't get http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1240985-morrowind-graphics-extender-mge/ to work is mostly because the required software are not installed or you tried to launch MGEgui.exe directly from the Morrowind folder without a shortcut. If you launch MGEgui.exe through a shortcut then MGE is properly registered in Windows.

You can try this http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1208156-cs-wont-save-esp/ for a problem with saving in CS. :)
