I have scoured Windhelm a few times and the only merchant I can find is the blacksmith.
Does this town even have a regular merchant and alchemy shop like Whiterun, etc?

If you go past the forge there's an alchemy shop and several merchants in that square. I think there's another store in the grey quarter too.

You are blind. East side of town. Southeast corner to be somewhat more precise. There's a bunch of stalls right by the blacksmith. And the alchemist is like 2 yards away.

There are also two Dunmer stores (general/inn-ish) on the other side of town
