Windows 10 Crashes

Post » Tue Aug 18, 2015 11:36 pm

Hello.

I've tried to play skyrim on my windows 10 machine for two days. I have installed skse, drivers, even old versions of DirectX and nothing works. If I play without skse, it crashes after the dragon loading screen, if I use skse, it crashes on the first cutscene when the "look around with your mouse" prompt appears.

I have tried different settings, compatibility modes etc etc and nothing works.

I even installed windows 10 from scratch, reloaded from steam but to no avail.

Anyone have any idea of what is going on?

Edit: I don't have any mods at the moment, clean computer with nothing but drivers, Windows 10 and skyrim on steam.

Are you using an Nvidia GPU?

Yes, I have Geforce gtx 650. Is that what is causing the problem?

I have a lot of work to do, but do you play with W10 Nvidia drivers, or have you installed the official Nvidia drivers. ???

If so, don't use the latest ones, just use the previous one !!!

Skyrim works perfectly on W10. See you in a couple of hours !!!

Try the 353.62 (clean install procedure), but *disable W10 automatic driver update first.

Also delete your skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini files located on that folder: C:\Users\\Documents\My Games\Skyrim

After verify the integrity of the game cache files. -> https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335%C2%A0

Thanks for the help, I followed your steps exactly, but it doesn't work. I'm trying the version of drivers previous to the one you said (353.62) now, I'll get back to you.

Edit: Didn't work either. Is it 353.62 for win 10 or for win 8.1? Some dude said that I should try the 8.1 version.
