Windows 7?

Post » Mon Mar 08, 2010 6:54 pm

I have Windows 7 professional 32-bit and i dont know if oblivion will run on it? It says on canyourunit.com that it isnt "officially" announced that its compatible. I think it mostly is because i googled it and some said yes and others said no. Can you tell me if its fine to run? Im going to buy the GOTY edition.

Windows 7 won't give you a problem, as long as you don't install to the default location.

What's more likely to cause trouble is the rest of your hardware. Especially the video card.

If you want to know more, Please post a "Dxdiag" report:

Start (Vista or 7), type in "dxdiag" (without the quotes), save the report to a desktop text file (default). Copy and paste the results (the whole thing) here in your thread.

There are much bigger differences in the Gamebryo graphics engine used with Morrowind than there were between Oblivion and Fallout 3, so that last assumption is invalid. Nevertheless, Windows 7 isn't quite the problem for Oblivion that Vista was.
