I just switched to windows 8 and have been trying to use Enchanted Editor to delete some cells in Morrowind Rebirth (the Solstheim ones, so that it plays nice with Wolli's overhaul).

Unfortunately it seems like Enchanted Editor is corrupting the file - Morrowind crashes every time it tries to load the edited esp. I've been using EE for years and have never had this problem before. It happens whether EE is installed in Program Files or not, whether EE is run as administrator or not, and whether the ESP is in Data Files or the EE directory.

Any ideas on what could be going wrong and how to fix it? I rely on EE a lot, I'd hate to lose it

FWIW, I spent some time trying to get EE to work under Win8, and finally gave up. I don't know that it's impossible, but I spent some time hammering on it without success.

Are any of the programs (game or any editors) installed in Program Files or Program Files (x86)?

It won't work then.
