Winter clothing.

Post » Sun Jan 02, 2011 11:50 pm

I always disliked the lack of winter clothing in the TES games, I don't want my character to be cold obviously.
And since our hero's will be travelling to Skyrim now, it never seemed more appropriate! so bring on the fur coats I say!(And other Winter clothing as well of course :))

Discuss.

Of course there is going to be winter clothing in the game. That I am certain of.

An idea I had a while ago is that you would slowly loose health if not properly dressed. What say you guys?

Not having Winter Clothing in Skyrim would be like only having Winter Clothing in the desert of Elsweyr...

I think it would be kind of silly to run around naked in the snow, so some penalty for that, but not necessarily to the point where you have got to be bundled up all the time, after all strenuous activity like fighting would certainly be enough to keep most warm, save perhaps the Argonians, and in that case being bundled up could be a bad thing. perhaps potions/spells could be used in lieu of heavy clothing.

Hopefully we will be able to put clothing under our armor, unlike in Oblivion. Could you imagine wearing JUST iron armor in a blizzard? You'd be better off running around in your skivvies!

Absolutely. There was winter clothing in Bloodmoon, and I expect an extensive amount in Skyrim. I am really expecting the environments will be vastly superior to Oblivion.

@Bralor - There is actually a topic about the environment and should it have an impact on the player. It's definitely an idea I support, and in fact I believe it should be more interactive and cause floods/snow-ins/etc.

Yes to winter clothing.

Also an interesting aspect to the cold, adding certain areas where you have to be wearing certain warm clothes/armors otherwise youd lose health slowly would be great Ie. Eastern Skyrim. It would also add a nice perk to being a nord and not needing to do so.

Yes :stare:

A khajiit wearing a fur coat seems a bit off too... Nights in the desert get extremely cold though, so i guess they're used to it.

Of course, we need winter clothing. Fur, big boots, cloaks/capes.... bring it all, but the male characters also need "BEARDS" this time around.

Yes. I'd like to see a variety of animal/monster-derived materials as armour and clothing in Skyrim; fur garments, various pelts, bone/skull adornments, etc.

Under-armor clothes and over-armor cloaks. That'd be good enough for me.

I don't think this is something we need to worry about. Its only logical to include them, and Bethesda wouldn't be so lazy as to leave them out. They're not like that.

I'm sure we'll see some sort of bear/wolf fur armor.

Only if it's allowed to put it over/under the armor, because it would be a pain having to switch armors all the time in the menu lol.

Fuzzy warm furry winter coats would be too cool, I really hope they add them, and that they can be worn on top of armor!

We should freeze out azzez out up north in Skyrim, unless we are nords ;) So more than fur armor, like a full bear pelt to put on my orc would be great! If we accually had a freeze health bar...

Although that sounds like an awesome idea. It would become a major hassle. I would hate to have to restrict my clothing because I would lose health.

I feel this feature could be used in a specific quest or quest line. But not for the entirety of the game.
