Winter is Coming Problems

Post » Sun Sep 29, 2013 5:58 am

If I remember right I had Winter is Coming set up before so that the WIC cloaks were everywhere but on guards and Imperials. I used Cloaks of Skyrim for them. COS was more suiting, I thought. Now it seems I can't get that set-up to work, so I settled for the No Guards option. Well, I got it installed and booted-up Skyrim only to find neither myself nor any of my followers wearing WIC cloaks anymore! Anyone know what's up or what I might have done wrong? Here's how they look on BOSS:

  • Cloaks.esp Active
  • Cloaks - Dawnguard.esp Active
  • 1nivWICCloaksNoGuards.esp Active
    • Bash Tag suggestion(s): {{BASH: Relev}}
  • 1nivWICSkyCloaksPatch-NoGuards.esp Active

BTW: I used the NMM version on MO.

I am not clear what you mean when you say your character is not wearing cloaks any more. What happens when you try to equip a cloak? The WiC + CoS patch merges the conflicting outfit records so both cloaks will appear on respawning NPCs properly. If your character and/or followers cannot equip the cloak then it has nothing to do with either mod, and more likely another mod in your load order which messed with body item slots.

by changing the esp (more specifically the name of the esp) your old safe lost track of your old cloaks. new WIC cloaks now are assigned to an esp with a different name.

revert to your old mod setup, remove all cloaks. then change your mods and craft new ones.

you might get away without this, if you change the name of the current WIC esps to what they used to be called before you switched them out. use at your own risk.

I've just checked by booting the game up to see if I can make more cloaks and nope, WIC is absent from all crafting lists in the game.

Post your BOSS log, enclosed in a spoiler tag so it won't clutter the screen.
