WIP New Ald' Ruhn

Post » Wed Feb 16, 2011 9:17 pm

Who, this looks wonderful. I'd love to use it, but I think I won't, since it touches a city that I do like as it is originally. But though, why couldn't you make your own city ? Or if you don't feel like doing so, could you at least authorize modders to use your meshes freely, so that - hopefully- someone else can do it ?

P.S. : actually, making your resources accessible for anyone would be very great, for it would allow it to be used easily for foreigns mods (.esp based mods can't run on foreign version of the game without an appropriate translation [except those who modify very few of the original game, such as TR, but it's really not the case of this mod]).

You might not know, but I started a poll before starting this WIP and people had the choice for "new city", but majority voted for a new ald'rhun. I'll see if I will finish this myself end of the year and if not, I'll make this available as ressource.

Btw, if someone needs some custom environment or meshes you can check my mod "Grimchand", doesn't seem as if someone is interested in continueing the concept, so consider it as a ressource. Just make sure original README is contained, cause I might have used 2-3 ressources of other modders!!! ;)

 WHOA!!! That's amazing, I hate ald-ruhn with a passion because of the redoran architecture.
Will this be released as a resource too? That would be amazing... :mohawk:
The whole thing is very inspiring, I think I love you... :hubbahubba:

Sorry no one took up the torch for you TDW, but I am glad you decided to let us use it as a resource! I'm gonna see what I can do with some of them... thanks again! :goodjob:

Ok, thanks. But if you do finish it, will you authorize using your meshes and textures anyway ? (I could really see that Canyon city in the valley in the north-western Molag Amur, being inhabited by Ashlanders that get less and less nomad as time goes on)

I'll check your Grimchand mod too, though I must admit I was especially caught up by your canyon-style architecture.

I heard a rumor TDW might be quitting modding and I just had to come here and beg for the life of this mod. Please don't let it die! I've never wanted a city redesign so badly!

I fear that rumour is true, I won't work on any MW project anymore. I have donated almost all my stuff to a befriended modder who has permission to use all he likes to in his own huge quest mod. Maybe i will release all my stuff as a resource aswell by time, although many models are crap from todays pov.

:cold:

I was looking forward to this. So unique, so other worldly. It would have fit into my game nicely and created a place of new exploration and wonder for me. I'm very sorry to see it go

Not likely, seeing as if you read any of the last few posts before your own, you will see that the mod is dead.
