(WIP/RELZ) Vibrant Distant LOD & Vibrant Textures Enhancemen

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 1:48 am

I walked into a cave today and didn't even notice there were no black blotches anymore until I was done clearing it out
That's how much better these are, they blend together so well :)

Yes, going to be alot of work. Has most of architecture / cave textures use alpha information. So I have to basically redo over again..

But this give me chance to redo alot of them and add things like bump maps, texture effects, and redo the sharpen % has well.

Vibrant Dungeons Interior and Exteriors Revamped are done!!!

- Revamped all Texture with Bump Map Effect
- Added back in Alpha Channel information that was missing on many interior textures..

Pics of Aylied Ruins, Fort Interior, Fort Exteriors - both day and night time..

Those look much better Core, though not to say your textures didn't before despite the issues. It certainly is an improvement.

CorePC or somebody, please just quickly: Is the installation routine from post #1 still valid? Is installation of Bomret still recommended or even necessary as the very first step? It looks to me that Vibrant files now exist for pretty much everything?

I downloaded all Vibrant files (13) for vanilla and SI and am about to install them to try them out. Thanks for a brief comment!

Yes, Bomret is recommended has that is contains the vanilla detailed normal maps , there are no si vanilla detailed normal maps..

vibrant textures are just the color replacer , it will work without bomret's but, detail will not be the same..

Thanks Corepc, I did what you said: install Bomret first, followed by the 13 Vibrant files. Now the game looks great, much sharper and the LOD is also much nicer than before. I really doubt I will even try out QTP3 again :)

Maybe, maybe the colors are a little bit too saturated for my taste, particulary in sunshine weather, but I will have to play some longer. And I look particularly forward to seeing the modified Oblivion worlds once I get down there (will be a good while still...)

thank you

Vibrant Sun is awfully bright espically in hdr so if affects everything overall. You could just remove the sun.dss if too bright and oversaturated.

I hadn't realized you'd done one for the Oblivion realms (I was still using Jarrod's for Oblivion textures only) ... these look awfully good :icecream: . Almost makes me itch to do the main quest once again, just to see them in action--although seven still-reigning champions seems quite enough at times. And maybe it's time to replace some of those mushy vanilla cloud textures while I'm at it, and the SI sky of course, and... ... well, what's the point of having a 1gb video card anyway, when my texture load is only 200-300? :stare: :lmao:

(Thanks, CorePC!)

Thanks, The Oblivion Realms I think still need some work has the my lava is too yellow because of glow map, Mine will have a darker look or sharper look in most cases. but that is part of Texture Upgrade that I have been working on and off on..

Mushy Vanilla Clouds - well mine are cleaned up a little bit, but, the I need to touch up on cloudy ones or reduced the mip map usage and alpha settings some.. Vibrant SI Weather is great ..The Green Nebula in Particaular..

Mine should have not performance hit at all..

I have been slowly working on texture fixes and upgrade and have roughly around 128 mb of textures done ..

Landscape Textures - bump mapped -

RoadStone Replaced with Small RoadStone Version

Better Blending has results of bump mapping the textures once again for some things.

Parallax Mapping Enabled for Dungeons, Caves, Sewer, Starting Dungeon Textures that had it turned on in Nif itself..

So I will be including these in the Vibrant Caves Update for testing has a few have requested it..

No wonder I wasn't as impressed initially with these textures. I remember loving the change in color but thought the textures lacked in quality. This explains it.
Might be a great alternative from QTP3R. Is there much of a hit on V-RAM using these CorePC? I'm still not satisfyed by the amount of V-RAM QTP3R uses.

By the way, I have always used your VibrantGrainFilter. Best noise replacer IMO

It is because you need bomret detailed normal maps once agian with mine, The 1.5 Texture Upgrade will have more detial has they have now been bump mapped has well. Which changed over all the detail of image itself in most case..

There is no vram hit with Vibrant or with bomret detailed normal maps..You can Mix and Match ..Install Vibrant and Bomret First, then install Qtp3 After etc all in the first post ..

20 Minutes or so for 70mb 1.5 Beta Replacer (install over everything) < they are beta because I am really needing input on them..Color Changes etc..

I guess I was under the impression that there was 1 OMOD download that consisted of the multiple downloads on that page.
No big deal. I just wanted to clarify before downloading each file.

Thanks

I think it is very nice to have it modular, as QTP3R is a big part of my replacers...

Extract to oblivion data directory and overwrite All

Remember I really need feedback about the new texture are they overbaked, too sharp, too dull, etc..

Alpha Settings adjusted for Parallax Mapping Features that is Enabled on Sewers, Starting Dungeon, Caves, and Some Forts and Ruins Nif . Those that needed it once again. I still have to check over the Architecture and that is big project. Which is on my next list to start on and fix, and eventually fix the landscape tiling. which will need new normal map generated from mine to help elimate the mid and far range tiling..Some Textures do not tile has much with 1.5 but still happen for most things ..

Hey Corepc! I just stumbled on the 1.5 update today. I use Bomret and all the Vibrant stuff since my last re-installation 2 months ago and I LOOOOVE them!

Just a quick question: The download from Megaupload contains a folder "Vibrant Caves" above the "Textures" folder. Just for clarification: I can disregard the Vibrant Caves folder, correct? All I need to actually copy/overwrite into the Oblivion/Data folder is the "Textures" folder (with all the stuff in it of course). I'll do it with BAIN, so I just need to repack the download a little.

I will provide you with feedback once I have it installed!

Correct you just need the textures folder only.

I would love to hear back so let me know what you think..Leyawiin area you can really tell the difference with new texture loaded..Much more Colorful Now yet Dark at Same Time..

OK, new 1.5 textures now installed, no problem at all.

I guess I have to make a trip to Leyawiin then, certainly over the coming weekend! So far I have been more hanging out in Chorrol, Skingrad, Cheydinhall and Anvil.
