WIP wolli's christmas mod

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 1:30 pm

ok, sorry if u dont do christmas but i'm sure this mod will be for you anyway.

ok, seeing as i can mod to much and i cant help out with the big community projects much atm either due to lack of time. my own mods also need a lot of work so i've taken a wee break from them for the busy holidays. i felt bored though, so i've started a new mod for Christmas:
it's set in a Victorian (think christmas carol) area, thats part of a region somewhere in tamriel. (no idea where)
it'll be covered in snow
all in interiors
and each day i'll fill a new place up with stuff from the community (such as resource that haven't been put in a mod yet, misc things people have made will be collected together so that u could come here to buy it all so you wont need 40 armor, weapons and clothing mods going all at once, though it'll depend on your taste)

i hope to get it finish by christmas, though if things get to busy it might be a boxing day release :P

here's a map of the area we're currently working on: http://i740.photobuc...pg?t=1291763455

the green square is the area we're doing atm, the "rich" area. it's where most the shops and market stalls are. that image is outdated btw, there's been ALOT more exterior done, i dont need to remake the claims map everytime i do a bit more exterior though :P it's just there to show us what INTERIORS need doing.

there are some rules however:

Korana's christmas resources is a MUST have, we use all it's items for our mod so far. if you want to make a claim you'll have to get that. (insert link here latter wolli)
you can use whatever meshes and textures you want:
1. you must have permission
2. you must tell me who to credit and send me the readmes (unless you list all the credits etc already, and who made what)
3. you can make whatever you want
for interiors we're using the common tileset to save on MB so we can fit in more "gifts" (such as armor and clothing) instead of tilesets.
there's no other rules :P other than ask me if u can make what you want to make. (ie if we already have a bakery, which we do, we wont need another one)

oh, and before i let you make something please show me what you can do 1st, just so i know your "capable" :)

wanna claim something? just ask for one on the unclaimed beneath, show me your interior "skills" and tell me what you want to do with the place and i'll send you a front on picture to show you the location of the door and the windows.

rich district:

claims:
2...complete(shop)
6...claimed(shop)
7...claimed(shop)
8...claimed(shop)
6...claimed(house)
unclaimed:
1...vampire(shop)
3...book(shop)
4...(shop)
5...(shop)
houses:

9...(shop)

I think putting it in High Rock like you said before could work.

Have you tried the raven rock roof texture? Does it have snow on it?

Good luck getting this finished, do you need any little bit of help? I could make an interior shop or something if you wanted. I should have some time.

yep that'd be cool if u want to make something. :)

i tried the ravenrock textures, there's one that does work but it's not tiled so it looks strange on some of the buildings.

just so you can get an idea of what it is i'm aiming for (you have to imagine all the wee little decorations and the snow on the roof)

I love it. That's a very charming environment that you're creating. Festive mods can be a nice change of pace and I would be interested in something like this.

haha, thanks! my plan was to turn it into a christmas driven super market.. town. so there'd be shops for different type of things to include different resources with.
ie:
a shop for women, would have heaps of those cool armor and clothes resources that have only ever been made for females.
an armor for the warrior type, it would contain heaps of heavy armors and weapons. (durzog armor type stuff, if i can use it ofc)
then a hidden away place for the thieves\assassin type characters in the more shady area.
one of the 2 crypts will contain a little blackmarket for vampires
and then i'll add taverns and pubs with a christmasie theme.
and ofc a few bakeries and food stores full of christmas (lore approved) meals.

but i dnt want to make it a GODZZ CHEAT, like toddtest, so it'll all be balanced ofc.

So similar to Mournhold Expanded, without the amusemant park? Well, I could look into what type of shop I'd like to do.

Looks very promising, can't wait to see what all will you come up with :goodjob:

Will soud odd, but I suggest to slightly over clutter some shops, it will add to a feeling of Christmas shopping madness, and will add some warmth to the interior.

Tip: a lot of those building models have transparent window textures. If you put stuff just behind the window, it looks like you're looking inside from the outside - you could put teddy bears and gift boxes behind the glass, and maybe string up some fairy lights inside the stores. :)

huh?

ok, so far we have 1 interior finish by melchior. and i've gotten HEAPS of the exterior done. though i'll take ingame pics later, when i have all the market area done.

if anyone wants to do any interiors read on :)

here's a map of the area we're currently working on: http://i740.photobucket.com/albums/xx49/wollibeebee/WL_xmas_claims.jpg?t=1291763455

2. you must tell me who to credit and send me the readmes (unless you list all the credits etc already, and who made what)

haha this made me chuckle.

Wolli looking great so far :D

I was thinking of doing a small town form witches and wizards. SO if I decide to join the project I may need 2-3 shops :P (Alchemist, book shop, wizardly weapons, wizardly clothing)
