Post » Sat May 28, 2011 10:14 am

Somethings that I plan on adding to Minstrels..the Violin and violin Bow animation are still being worked on...

http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=741634

and some of the Dancing animation from http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=745352&hl=dancing for some dancers..

Still need good violin songs ...If you are musically gifted, please record and upload...

The next update I will have them traveling more Often..Will do the route thing like I did in Travellers...This works very well..

That's a good idea, have them travel around the inns. They could play on street corners, town squares and things for a couple of hours during the day if it's not raining too.

Here is the Dancer's part for Minstrels of Cyrodiil Test Version...

you need to download and install this first..from http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=745352&hl=dancing for the animations..

http://www.4shared.com/file/23010508/1747fcfc/dancers.html

There are 7 different dancers around the Imperial City in each area ..expect the arena in which there are two ...

They are wearing black dress so you will not miss them..just like the minstrel you talk to them or any npc talk to them they will dance for you...

Remember I did not make the animations so there are still some looping issue with some of them ..but this will give you a general idea ...no music yet also...

working on getting that to work with minstrels...

thank you...How? This mod may take some time..Because alot of stuff comes from other people but in the end it will be worth it just to have to add more realism..

I will try and get the minstrel and the dancers working together...I have also thought of another way to make the dance randmon, so, I think I will and get that to work..it would look much better if they switch their dances every so often...

i believe corepc is going to integrate this into his Tamriel Travellers mod, as well as NPC with JOBS, so its not dead, corepc just wants to cut down on th amount of mods he is working on

Corepc, any new version of "dancers.esp" where they will not wear the same clothes and will walk and dance (like minstrels_of_Cyrodil mod) ?

I don't believe it is dead, just that CorePC does an amazing amount of work, at the moment he is working on MMM as a priority.

I've never posted here before(only read up til now), but I had some comments on the more RL music references here. First of all, the wikipedia link is to a minstrel show, which is a more 19th-century form of entertainment, while minstrels as traditionally known were active from the middle ages into the renaissance. If you are basing the mod off of studies of minstrel shows and intending it to sound "medieval" you'll miss the mark there.

Speaking of "medieval", my academic focus in college was music and I especially had an interest in music history. If it is not really a concern about whether instruments are in the correct "era", then by all means you can create a very unique musical style in Cyrodiil, but if it is a concern I can help out quite a bit I imagine. To be quite honest, if you wanted it all to sound and look like actual medieval minstrels you'd probably bore everyone but the hardcoe realists(and even then, I doubt they'd know the difference between medieval, renaissance, etc. etc.).

What I'm *guessing* you're really wanting is just a special style that makes the player instantly realize they are hearing cyrodiil music and not music intended to sound like the TE4 game. This will most definitely come across in the sorts of harmonies and rhythms you use, as well as what sorts of tonalities(in the same way that you can tell rock from jazz, or classical from a movie soundtrack). If I am a player traveling ingame and I hear someone fiddling in Bruma and it sounds like appalachian folk music(to avoid using specific music jargon) and then travel to Bravil and hear someone playing a flute like a thrash metal guitar riff, well, I'm totally lost, really. You'll want the style to be at least partially consistent across Cyrodiil. I think I would perhaps be able to formulate a better response if I listened to some of the songs being used. Hope this helps and isn't just confusing :)

Correct Thay...

It would be nice if you give us some news.

I am very busy person after all...Martigen Monster Mod has taken up most of my time nowday's...But it almost to a point where I feel that we have worked out the bug's with it..Then I can get back to modding my Travellers and Minstrel's Mod's..

I am still working on the mod..it does take time to develop ai that move's from one location to next..and play music...and does not cause too many problem's..plus making dancer's do the same...and make them all unique..

Music is another thing...I really can't use mp3 because streammusic is broken ...and I do not to force obse on everyone..

So this scripting it to use small wav files only...and I would need about 9 songs in all...Instrument's well I only have a lute right now..and I need to find my violin animation...etc...

You do realize that the post above your is old news...with that video. We talked about the video in the very first or second thread I can remember..it is more staged and not an actual animation..My lute player does a better job...

Yes, and read the post of the 31st of Dec, that guy could be a good help.:)

Eventually this will be put into Tamriel Travellers Itself...Much easier If I intergrate into that...and work with one mod instead of a whole bunch of other smaller mods...Since I work on MMM also...and NpcwithJobs..

Don't know if it can be useful, but a harpsichord mod has been released and the author (Tarnsman) accepts that other mod makers use his work: here is the link http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=739115&hl=harpsichord

I really hope to see those minstrels in Cyrodiil soon, also, don't know if it can help, someone made a bard mod where the player can sing and ear money out of his shows: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cfd5fFSY3k

This was, I hope, a useful bump.
