{WIPZ} Fort Sumwhyre

Just some input:
Constructive criticism.

Some of the weapons look great! (The daedric/dwarven inspired ones) but the others, while being good models, don't really match the rest of Morrowind.
The texture's are too soft and bright.
Just from the screenies, they appear to be more like foam swords rather than something you'd hack a cliff racer to bits with. Sharpen the textures and make them darker.

Good luck on your mod! Looks pretty good.
:foodndrink:

Thanks for the input, I'll work on that. :hehe: Actually, if anyone would like to help me with textures (especially on the clothes) I'd really appreciate it.

Anyways, http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/morestuff_08.jpg
Left to right- viking/Nord shield (I plan to make painted varients and I also have made one with a spike in the center), some stockings (not sure if I'll include them....), a throwing knife and axe (axe is using Bethesda textures currently), purple vest shirt for a male (originally wasn't going to do a male purple shirt, but decided to do it anyways, I also have a vest-only version), and an unfinished shield.

Plenty more still to do, and any suggestions for items, NPCs, things to see and do, et cetera are more than welcome.

More ideas than productivity.... :banghead:

Anyways, I had an idea last night for a different style of houses to be used in the docks area rather than the usual shacks like I had originally planned.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/dockhouses1.jpg

My plan is to have these houses packed together tightly, literally stacked on top of each other in some places. They'll be like flats for dock workers and sailors (when in dock), and probably have a few surprises. I have plans for a few variations, steps to the upper flats, and shutters (open and closed versions) for the windows. These are currently a rough draft, the scale is about right, I just need to clean up some of the mapping and textures, adjust doorways (or make my own doors..), finalise the design, 'rough' a few things up, and add collision..... then I'll have to redo the docks area again for these. :P

Many, many ideas in my head, not much progress though......

That is an awesome idea swrd! Those are some great architecture meshes. That will look great in the docks area :goodjob:

Not much in the way of progress yet..... :hehe: I do have a few things to show though....

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/greenvest1.jpg (with more colours on the way, and I may try to make a male version, but I don't know if it will look as good)

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/spear.jpg (with the usual mesh/texture tweaks still needing to be done...)

I would like to ask a favour of anyone who may be looking at this thread, first off I would like to re-shape the landscape of the island a bit, but I'm worried that I may make things worse so if anyone is good with landscaping and would be interested in helping me, please let me know.
Second, I think that I may stick with the island as a straight-up exterior for a few reasons, but I need to move it further north, would anyone good with programmes like TESFaith be willing to help me? Also, does anyone have a working link to the map o' mods? The only links that I can find give me a 403 error.

http://www.mwmythicmods.com/walks.htm in various stylees. Also, Rougetet's http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6000 could help.

[Edit: Typo. No, "stylee" is not a typo, it's a word. Honest.]

Thank you for the map. :)
Between the map and MMGUM I think that I'll start working north of the Sheogorad Region, there seems to be little up there right now and enough room to work with. The Underground 2 seems to be the main player in the area, but with my current plans I should avoid it entirely.

I've been working on an idea that there will be a more upscale area that would use the Dunmeri stronghold architecture with new textures-

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/forttextures1.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/forttextures2.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/forttextures3.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/forttextures4.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/forttextures5.jpg

For right now these are just test textures, I spent about ten-fifteen minutes making each one with GImp. I'll probably use texture sources later for a better look. What do you think for now.

I'm also looking for ideas for other architectural details, both for interiors and exteriors, so if you have any ideas please let me know. I plan on making a resource pack for all of the interior and exterior meshes that I'm making for this that will be released seperately from this project.

Later.

A few new things to show-

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/nmblades.jpg (originally planned for these to be warlock/ necromancer blades, but I may redo the textures to be 'ornate' ebony blades)

Later.

Long time no update... :hehe:

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/masks.jpg (the one on the left should look familiar  )
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/smallmask.jpg (using the Orcish helm texture)

One of many more swords that I'm working on (there are about a dozen more that I want to eventually make)-
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/nightblade1.jpg (using Bethesda textures for now, actually the Chrysamere texture fits the blade exactly)
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/Trading%20fort/nightblade2.jpg

That's all for now....
