[WIPz} New Vegas Slave Trading

Post » Mon Mar 01, 2010 1:06 pm

Given the running theme of slavers that existed in Fallout 3, and the fact that at least one faction clearly uses slaves in New Vegas, I have decided to bring the ability to interact with these seedier factions back to the player.

Have a look below at what is planned, but I am open to ideas to be included at this time. I have finished the game once so I doubt you could say anything that will act as a spoiler to me, but if you have a suggestion that could potentially include a spoiler, please PM it to me rather than including it in the thread.

This mod will:

Allow you to capture and either sell or keep slaves of your own.

Multiple roles for anyone you choose to keep as a slave yourself with ways to interact with them.
-Pack Slave
-Cleaner
-Dancer

Multiple factions to sell slaves to, different factions will use slaves in different ways

The ability to release/rescue any slaves you take yourself, depending on the faction you sold them too. Sometimes there is no way back..

Use models and textures found within the vanilla New Vegas game.

Take any NPC as a slave. (Yes, there are times when that would be a REALLY bad idea.)

This mod will not:

Due to the nature of the world space and NPCs involved, no code can be brought across from FO3 directly. Some code may be based on the FO3 scripts, but it will be mostly new, and what isn't new will be rewritten.

Hold your hand through clashes with the main quest. Whilst I will try to minimise the number of occasions in which you dead end yourself, there are going to be dozens of people you can enslave that will screw up quests. If you do that, well, you wont be able to complete that quest. I can't pre-empt everything.

Done:
New Mesamatron Created. Well, I say new, its a plasma pistol with the mes projectile effects.
Currently bug testing the new scripts.

If you dont mind suggestions, you should make several options for people that wouldnt want to use the plasma pistol, like a cattle prod, or other things that damage fatigue. =) Thanks in advance for reading this.

You could add bonuses for capturing different factions like NCR or Boomers (I personally would think it was funny because they consider themselves immune). You could also be able to make money by adding them to the Legion arena lineup.

Oh ... David get's competition ... ???

I revealed shortly that David (the slaver from FNNCQ in FO3) has arrived in New Vegas. What means that I am working on a similar mod too in the moment. That's ok! No problem here David loves to wipe ou... I mean deal with business partners.

Btw. I am serious here. Two slaver factions who don't like each other is surely a lot of fun for the player if he/she stands in the middle of the conflict  . That's New Vegas style. So I am curious with what you are coming up.

I have added areana use to my list of things to sell to the legion for.

Once I get v1.0 up an running I will add:

-Alternate weapons to mes people with. (This needs to be done as a script like in FO3 rather than damaging fatigue, I think. We will see.)
-Suitable faction adjustments for enslaving people from a faction and providing the valuaable service of selling to a faction.

Im not sure, I was wondering if the fatigue damage was a leftover from the Elderscrolls games on the same engine. Haven't looked at the cattle prods details much yet.
