Wish to change Resolutions via settings file?

Post » Sat Feb 23, 2013 9:20 am

Basically I run Win7 and most games at a resolution of 1824x1026, yes i know its a weird resolution but for some reason my monitor dislikes 1920x1080.

Sadly using a HDMI cable, only allows crysis 3 menu to show me up to 1280x1024. Then when i select it my monitor goes blank and tells me 'Invalid Format'. Unfortunately i can't afford a new monitor just yet so i was hoping there is a config file somewhere with the appropriate settings or commands to allow me to edit the resolution.

I have already tried CVARconfigurator it helped at least, cause now i can get back and alter the ingame settings again.

Looking forward to the help, thanks.

Sorry for Double post.

Found a settings file with the resolutions however changing resolution in file doesn't work as settings revert back to 1280x960, and setting file to 'read-only' may keep resolution in the file but the setting won't be applied.

Could i please have some assistance, i have seen a similar question asked on good ol' deaf and blind 'EA Answer HQ' so i know i'm not the only one

it has something to do with the 30hz and 60hz, exactly the same as dead space 3. you are running games at 1920x1080x30hz normally, not a true 1080p, because 1080p its 1920x1080x60hz. there is no problem because the game still runs on 30hz. but EA games (atleast crysis 3 and dead space series) force the game to use only 60hz.
in dead space if you had an AMD graphics card you could use radeonpro and tweak the game to force it at 30hz, allowing to choose 1920x1080. but in crysis that tweak doesnt work.
