Wish list for the devs concerning Fallout 4

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 4:51 pm

Ok, due to having a job. I'm only about 20 hours in on Fallout right now. But there are a few glaring things that I really wish could be changed about the game. I figured maybe, if they read this. That we can get some comments going on it.

For the record F:4 is the first time I've gotten and played a Fallout game at release, so I have no idea if the people at Bethesda have a running dialog with the players or not. But it's worth a shot.

1) This is the first Fallout game that I've seen that doesnt show NPC's on the hud. Maybe assign a skill wtih S.P.E.C.I.A.L. or put a perk out there that makes this a thing. Or just generally change it. It makes scouting out enemy positions really hard.

2) The thing with Dogmeat being able to get at items that are behind locked doors or in locked safes. I'm sure the devs are already aware of this little gem of a bug.

  • bring back weapon and armor CND for hardcoe mode(Preston literally says "take care of your weapon and it will take care of you" and you cant?)
  • ...oh and hardcoe mode
  • dual wield(I was really hoping that with skyrim's dual 1h weapons that they would do it here but noooo) I really want to have 1h pistol and 1h sword at the same time to fulfill some warhammer 40k-esque fantasies.
  • ammo crafting....WHY ISN'T IT ALREADY IN?! also ammo scrapping so I can turn certain kinds of ammo into better ammo or ammo that I need more
  • more than 4 dialog options and bring back some of the speech checks that required INT, STR etc.
  • make VANS visible outside of VATS with some kind of toggle misc item maybe because its just a waste of a point right now.
  • if dual weild fantasies come true then SHIELDS some riot or energy shields on myself or on enemies could make melee combat maybe doable against heavy ranged enemies, and at the same time make make you consider different strategies to deal with enemies with shields, maybe make shield absorption determined by your endurance.
  • umm fast travel caravans? back in skyrim i really enjoyed playing without fast travel but it was still a bit of a slog to go from whiterun to solitude and in this i find myself relying on fast travel far too much.
  • cars and/or motorcycles, I was hoping that with horses in skyrim they would bring some sort of drive-able land transportation...considering that they can make working vertiberds and massive airships I figured that driveable cars and motorcycles would be for early game but they aren't here at all.

I want armor and weapons degradation system back.

Killable companions

And

ammo crafting. People are saying Fallout 4 has no ammo crafting?

Then I will purchase Fallout 4. I'm just sitting here reading topics :(.

they've already shipped over 12 million copies of the game, probably aren't going to change it to get your sale. might as well move along to something else

I'm not gonna move on, just gonna say my wishlist and criticize them. Bethesda Softworks and Bethesda Game Studios published and developed video games are one of the video games and my favorites that I love purchasing.

I don't care much for the Battlefield video games, Call of Duty video games or video games published by Activision and Electronic Arts (EA) in general.

So I don't have much to do outside of my real life job and it's the weekend I don't work during the weekends.

They didn't even sell 12 million copies they shipped 12 million copies. Not all 12 million of those copies were sold-through to customers they are still sitting on brick and mortar retailer shelves.

If I take a guess maybe 8 million people total purchased Fallout 4.

that 12 million was just on day one. they shipped more a day or two later. sales are breaking records left and right. Xbox, steam, PS4..............going to be a monster. and if you really have nothing better to do that spend your days criticizing a game your not going to buy or play despite the fact it will accomplish nothing.............................well, that's just sad.

Their not sold-through to customers. We don't know how many copies sold to customers yet.

They are only copies sold to brick and mortar retailer stores.

PlayStation Network (PSN), Steam and Xbox Live we don't know total number of copies sold either since those aren't tracked. Well Steam says 1.6 million copies.

So I'm sticking with 8 million copies sold to customers.

breaking just about every sales record. going to be huge. it's really not that complicated. do you really need a thousand links to how incredible the release of this game has been?

Do you know the difference between sold-through to customers and shipped to brick and mortar retailer stores?

Slavers and slavery in the Commonwealth - I just don't get why they removed that faction considering it has been in all three titles of Fallout and is a major aspect of Fallout lore.

A ''hardcoe'' mode that requires food, water, sleep, and limits your carrying limit.

yeah it seems quite strange that they added an option to pacify enemies but then didn't add slavers? Oh that also reminds me that New Vegas had different ammo types and they didn't add that either cause ammo to knockout your enemies to pacify them would have also been neat

Maybe because America is becoming too pathetically politically correct. I can almost imagine some groups getting angry at Bethesda for introducing into the game a slavery system. Heck, even The Witcher 3 was criticized because the game didn't have people of color in the game; that it was shameful of them not to have done it.

That is exactly what I was concerned about - Would be a damn shame if Beth caved into that hypersensitive PG crowd - Honestly, Fallout 4 does not seem near as dark and twisted as Fallout 3 or the previous two from the 90s.

That's because the more mainstream a game becomes, the more unoriginal and less innovative it becomes for fear of hurting the masses and thus losing profits.

I honestly don't believe this at all.

For each person who is offended by something there will always be 5 people who are not offended by something and will purchase it.

It's just like movies if something in a movie offends you then don't watch it, but there will always be a lot more people who will watch it.

Dragon Age is a prime example of this, Ballowers100. Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition are much more ''light'' in comparison to Origins.

Bioware pandered. I just hope that is not why Beth left out Slavery and Slavers.

Yes, but if the more vocal masses win, they often get rid of what the other people want. It happens all the time here in America. But we don't want to get too political here. Lol, see? even here you and I lose in this political correct nation.

I'm not vocal though? I been complaining on these forums since 2011 when The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim released for sale that I'm upset Bethesda Game Studios removed the armor and weapons degradation system and that companions are unkillable and protected or invincible or whatever god like.

And Bethesda Game Studios has ignored me. So with that they aren't going to see my $60 dollars (USD) or any money ever from Fallout 4, The Elder Scrolls VI, Fallout 5, etc. That's $180 dollars (USD) right there lost in sales from 3 video games.
