My wishes for a DX10 Patch...

Some Dx10 features that id like to see in Crysis 2:

1. Soft particles with particle physics.. in combination with a good weather system.
2. Global Cloud Shadows and volumetric clouds... especially on windowed skyscraqers this would look really awesome.
3. Volumetric light.. i know its already in, but i think with dx10 it could even look better than on Dx9.
4. Same goes for volumetric fire.
5. Dynamic volumetric smoke
6. Dynamic wet surfaces and water splashes ( in rain levels)
7. Soft shadows
8. Shader Model 4

Dx10 fallback is a must for me... i would be deeply disappointed if i will be locked out of the "better version" through Dx11 incompatibilities with my grfx card.

Quite honestly, DX10 is a failed version for multiple reasons, one of them beeing that it's not a big enough leap in evolution for it to be worth it. It does so little more than DX9 that it's just not worth it for game companies to invest in it especially since back then, it required Vista or Win 7 to be usable. Most things that DX10 does can be fully replicated in DX9, I say just let that failed creation die and embrace true evolution, DX11, or stick with the old guns, DX9. Either way and in the end game, wasting time for DX10 development isn't worth it for both companies and gamers alike.
