Wishhope list for Wasteland Workshop

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 7:54 pm

So, the next dlc on our plates next month will be the wasteland workshop. We already know we are getting mechanisms to plant traps out in the wastes to capture people and beasts for a combat arena style thing we can build, which is sweet. However, as this will focus most likely exclusively on settlement stuff, what other items would you like to see added to settlements? (this goes for us console dwellers as pc mustard race can just make what they want anytime they want.)

As for myself, I'm hoping for food planters like you have in greygarden, different looking windmill generators (like the ones you see on bases on overpasses), making names for all generic settlers, being able to assign people to pump water in settlements that can only support water pumps and minuteman paintjobs for all power armours.

An extensive arena setup, including betting. Perhaps a means of turning a profit, regardless of your own interaction with it. Think in terms of merchant shops that passively give the player caps

Generators, will be included in it, if you're speaking about the fusion ones. One of the screenshots had one in it. So unless they cut it out, we are good there.

Well I was spouting in earlier threads about how we will be able to bet on robots fighting each other but then realized I wasn't exactly sure where I even heard that or if I on;y dreamt that lol. I really hope I didn't and we will be able to let out robots dual it out with each other and bet on the outcome. That would be immense.

Does anybody else know if betting and using settlers in arena fights was confirmed? I'll be miffed if it was just wishful thinking on my part.

As much content as Automatron has minus the quest.

well it says in the dlc description you can put the things you capture against each other or even your settlers, i'd say that part is a safe bet.

On another note, how does one post pictures in these forums?

Is it wrong that all I want are clean walls, clean floors, and bunk beds for my settlements?

Well considering they finally made it so you could clean up debris (though only in new "settlement"), its certainly not the most crazy thing to ask for. Bunk beds would be great for fort/military installation themed places, or places with tight quarters.

It would be nice to actually get to repair the existing buildings, removing bushes and stuff (having shrubs poking through building floors is highly annoying) and some new building components that have a slightly nicer aesthetic than the existing ones.

The slightly "let's ask a four-year old what they want and put that it" arena aspect doesn't interest me in the slightest, so I will most likely never use it.

If that's the biggest thing coming in the wasteland workshop IMHO it's a bit of a carpy DLC

I wont argue with that. A personal alternative would have been to be able to take over Easy City Downs as a settlement, and add on an arena so you could have robot races and the fights like advertised make it a full fledged casino like area. After that just go crazy with the settlement stuff to do things like what you mentioned and such.

I, and most others I know, fixed the castle walls with concrete foundations...pretty easily.

now for real. More options to make my settlement a true town. And a better UI to handle the settlers that work on it.

Yes but its very tedious. I see there is a mod to fix it already. Hopefully it comes to console.

Certainly more bling for settlements, which is likely a given.

What I really hope for is more in depth settlement management and more game features for the settlements and settlers. I'd like to really feel like I'm running the show and managing a faction, not slapping down eight beds and off I go looking for screws.

That wouldn't be bad.

Adding in patrolling Guards, new shop themes, more beds, tables, and stuff like this.

More pleasing eyes builds that isn't wood and destroyed Metal.

Or a DLC that indicates evil Bethesda finally realized the errors of their pernicious ways and redeemed themselves and made FO4 more like Witcher or FONV!!!

Washers, dryers, refrigerators, curtains, lights on a string, Christmas trees and decorations, Halloween decorations, wall tapestries, ability to clean our settlements of debris and bodies, blankets on beds, and have cats as pets.

The ability to Exile/Imprison Settlers

New vegas? Sure, the Witcher? No thanks.

Narrative driven RPGs have gone the way of the Dodo i'm afraid, everything that could be done has been done.

Arena-related

-The option to set up teams however we like for the arena. Let the player be able to join the evil team, fight against settlers or maybe even companions if wanted. Maybe a 3rd team for some chaotic matches like settlers vs raiders plus a horde of Mirelurks who are hostile to everyone.

-The player can choose to make either settlers, monsters or both remain alive after the match so we can use them again. Or we can choose to risk them.

-The option to choose gear for the combatants, or change their levels. Level 1 & 2 Settlers(80-100 hp) won't last long!

-Perhaps multiple sizes for our build-able custom arena. Was thinking about where to build it and really not sure. If it's a single, very large build-able object it might not fit at any settlement. Currently I'm leaving Spectacle Island and Starlight Drive-in mostly empty so there will be room for the arena.

- Allow ANY creatures/enemies to be used: Mirelurk Queens, Super Mutant Behemoths, Automatrons, Power Armor soldiers. And any other really cool enemies that get added in future DLC.

-Terrain options: If there are aquatic enemies in Far Harbor, allow the option to partially flood the arena and include them. We could also be allowed to build inside the Arena to give combatants cover to shoot from. Another option could be making it an irradiated arena like the Pitt.

There's really only one thing in this game that I've wanted since release & if there's any DLC that's going to bring it, it would be this one...

The ability to rename settlers.

Well as much as I would love to see a bunch of new things for settlements that don't already exist in the game, but when mods come out I'm sure we'll see those ones like the Ultimate settlement mod which adds so many things that already exist in the game for use in settlements or the ability to drop a workshop bench anywhere that gives you a sanctuary sized build area to build a settlement in, personally I hope that one makes its way to console there are so much better areas to build a settlement then what is provided. So, sad to say, we'll probably see better things come out of mods then what Bethesda may give us in DLC form, but hey, new content is new content and any and all are welcomed. But I would like to have it to where when I'm in build mode that Time in its self would stop and allow for no-clip movement while I build, nothing more annoying then hearing everyone talking or walking in you why while you build, building at night (unless in trying to see my lighting set up) or having to jump out of build mode to take care of a pack of ghouls that are attacking or having to waste building material crafting extra stairs or floor pieces just build high, so if I accidentally grab the entire structure and fall through the floor and die (which is why I build with power armor on now makes for easy movement and no death on falls). I don't care how unrealistic that would be, I mean how realistic is it for me to craft items out of thin air like a giant metal prefab house an move it around like its nothing. Oh and how about the ability to pick up settlers and move them.
