Witch game would you advice getting?

No the alternative is better in the majority's opinion. unfortunately for you theres not enough people that share your opinions. The gaming industry is a company thats sole purpose is making money. if they made big games like fallout TB just to suit the select few they would go bust. now where have i heard that before........oh yes the originals went bust

What do you mean by majority? Where did you get that? Ratings? Sales figures? Prospective questionaire? How do you know the majority agrees with you?

The Fallout franchise went bust because they used TB combat. That's a novel yet thoroughly incorrect theory. Congratulations.

In actuality the Fallout franchise went bust because of hopelessly inept mismanagement by Interplay. Both Fallout 1 and 2 were critically successful and profitable games.

No! Your not allowed to use facts and logic here! only ratings count! GOSH!

:D

I dislike it when people claim to have the majority because we never really know how many thousands of fans dont come onto these forums, and just play the games.

LOL i think its obvious. Thats why they dont make TB anymore. Not enough people want it. Game devs are not stupid, they know what the public wants. Thats why FO3 and NV sold millions of copies.

Fallout 3 was epic???

what FO3 are you playing?

just asking

(JRPG's doesn't really count since their TB mechanics are vastly different and "are" successful in their market.)

They dont used TB anymore thanks for some people who believes that they need "Western people" help

Dario, dont antagonize him. Auld Scad, read the post I replied to, it should be enlightening, and the very presence of people like us "stuck in the past" folks only goes to show how great the orignals were, look at how fiercly loyal the "stuck in the past" folks are, the orignals didnt go under, they are still very popular today, our presence is proof of that, Bethesda made FO3 FPS because they wanted to use TES as a frame for Fallout 3, instead of previous Fallouts, which is sad but it is in the past, FNV didnt have a choice on the engine so they had to do FPS, popularity has nothing to do with it, i wager that a modern isometric TB Fallout would be just a popular.

They still went bust because they weren't making enough money!

No, they made a hell of a lot of money, hence "profitable", but interplay cancled Van Buren and threw resources into BoS, killing them, the originals were extremely successful, but Interplay shot itself in the foot, if Van Buren had been finished, Fallout would still be alive as it shouldve always been.

What age are you? probably 16 or something. I played the originals when they first came out, plus a lot of other older games. my first TB game was laser squad, you probably have never heard of it. If you think that a TB modern fallout would be just as popular then your clearly not from this planet!

I am 16, yes, how does that, in any way, lessen the validity of my opinion, actually, me being 16 and pro-TB and iso is actually just a hallmark of the quality of them, that being great. I do think a modern TB isometric Fallout would be just as popular as the new "Bethesdawesome" system, so that makes me an outsider, are you trying to alienate my opinion, that is rude and quite inappropriate.

Okay, lemme put this in simple terms.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas sold millions of copies.
New TB Fallout game is a Fallout Game

Therefore, New TB Fallout game is a game that will sell millions of copies.

I just think your kidding yourself if you think turn based games are still popular. if they were companies would still be making them. you dont hear of any top selling TB games anymore

I bet that if Bethesda or Rockstar or some big name company made a Turn Based game with a big brand, it would sell.

By the Way, Insulting people is not the best way to get your point across.

I dont think i am kidding myself, the reason you dont hear about top selling TB games anymore is because the gaming industry is becoming more dilluted into FPS bullcrap, and wont take a risk on it, hell, real RPGs are a rare sight nowadays, but the success of FNV may help bring back games that actually care more about the meat of a game and not the Rule of Cool.

Just because your older does not make you intellectually smarter. I know many old idiots and many young prodigies.

Because god forbid someone YOUNGER than you would have an opinion common to people that tend to be a bit older...

Was NV that much of a success? it seems to have split opinions, didnt get that great reviews. It couldnt fail to sell copies after the success of FO3. i personally love the mixture between FPS and RPG. The gaming industry know what there doing.....a little more than you i think

They still went bust because they weren't making enough money!

Well technically yes. Obviously if Fallout 1 and 2 had made 100 billion dollars profit between them Interplay could've made every bad decision under the sun and still probably kept chugging along nicely for years to come.

Back in the real world however this is a ridiculous argument since Fallout 1 and 2 alone could hardly be expected to make enough money to fund Interplay indefinitely regardless of whatever Interplay decided to do and their failure to do so says nothing about the popularity (or lack thereof) of turn-based combat.

listen, i respect your opinion and if i was ever in an argument i would rather have you on my side lol But i cant agree with you about TB games being popular. If FO3 had been TB i dont think it would have sold half the copies
