Ok that's better. The terminal beside the brotherhood scribe the strtsbthw quest is the first one. Behind you on a support beam is the second one and the third one us on the support beam to the left of the second one. Just make sure you move fast

You need to isolate it on three computers, it shifts every time you try it again.

Best way load up the game..
Talk to the BoS scribe, start the quest.
Stand in front of a terminal.
When he shouts "The virus has jumped again" quick save.
Enter the terminal, check to see if it has one part of the virus, if not move on.
Check to see how many parts you find and remember which terminals they're on.
If he shouts "Damn it" reload..
Then head straight to those terminals that you remember it had the virus on, and find the last parts.

You need to isolate it on three computers.

Actually you don't need to do this quest to join the Brotherhood. Unless you want to side with Hardin, but he has a ridiculous haircut so I don't know why anyone would want to do that.

But if it takes me two days to complete a sidequest I'm considering skipping it xD

However, I don't even think that reputation-wise this makes a difference in the long run. Doing all the quests for the BOS will get you "liked", and I don't think you can ever get enough rep to become "idolized". Blowing them up with a 'liked' reputation will give you the "soft-hearted devil" reputation, which has the same effect as being 'neutral'. I wanted to have Veronica with me and still blow the bunker up, so I had to become liked, and then a soft-hearted devil so she wouldn't leave me afterwards.

The science check doesn't automatically complete the quest it just makes it easier. Once you isolate the virus on a terminal it won't jump if you have passed the check. Otherwise, yeah it's a pain in the ass.

I never do this quest, I stick with McNamarra and avoid the the other guy like the plague. I end up with the safehouse and becoming an honorary member in my playthroughs that don't blow them up.

thanks for all the help . actually my dad uses this hair cut . lol , the reason behind it is that his bold in the middle
so he gets the hair from the side all the way to cover the top , the silly thing is when its windy the hair would just drop down
long to his shoulder while the other side of his head is totally empty so he always needs to bring it back like a teen age boy fixing his pony tail. i never understand why he dose it like that but i guess i never asked :mohawk:

well back to the game , i dont care about the virus isolate but that elder wont talk to me , he says it must be in the headquarter room or something , i cant get him to go there !!

It's OK to do it, as long as you don't tell Hardin about "The Chain that Binds" and give him the mission holotapes he cannot do a thing.

The best way to do the quest is first to have the necessary science to suggest partitioning the virus.
Then only find one partition per session, once you partition part of the virus wait for time to run out this avoids any bugs making fixing the virus impossible.

your science skill is high. this quest is buggy. so i guess you will need to use the console or ignore it like i do.

This is what most folks have trouble understanding. Get your science up with books and Mentats. This allows you as many tries as you need to isolate the virus. Each time you isolate it, that terminal is out of play. If you don't find another, try again. Trap them one at a time.

Without the Science check you must get all three in one go.

It depends on your age. The younger you are the better. After your late teens the best approach is to let him know that all he is doing is calling attention to his baldness. Tell him that a clean, neat, short trim on the sides makes him look younger. Get your mother involved.

well back to the game , i dont care about the virus isolate but that elder wont talk to me , he says it must be in the headquarter room or something , i cant get him to go there !!
Leave the bunker and come back.

Wait about 15 game days and go back to Primm or the Lucky 38. Or reload a save from before he got lost.

I never take him inside, as that is where he gets lost the most.
