Wizard Lore

I have been trying to find information on wizards of The Elder Scrolls. I have come up with several different things but none of which has completely answered my questions on the beginnings of the wizard line. I have found information about Divayth Fyr, Psijic's and the Psijic Order being faithful to the "Old Ways" of Aldmeris, Nu-Hatta(granted, not much there), Temple Zero, Magnus, Summerset Isle and its Isle of Artaeum, Aldmeri and their lost continent of Aldmeris, Derenni, and several towers(Adamantite, Crystal, and White Gold Tower). Though all of this is interesting and helpful, I am still left wondering how the wizard line really began to take shape and who the first wizards actually were. Did they have a specific task to take care of in the beginnings. I'm still not real sure what their role is in the present era. I know from Morrowind they seemed very withdrawn from all other people. Maybe this information is within these topics or readily available somewhere I just haven't looked. If anyone knows where I can find more information about wizards in The Elder Scrolls lore, I would greatly appreciate knowing where to find it. I have been looking on the Imperial Library website and on these forums mostly. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate them. Thanks.

Anybody can do magic, it's part of the Aurbis. It's not like Dnd where a sorcerer needs to have Dragon Blood. If you want to put an origin to the use of magic, think tribal shamans and mystics. Kinda like the Ashlander or Skaal tribes do it.

Going back even further and you end up in the creation myth where people descend from the gods or were made in their image. Then you can presume people had the innate ability or were taught/given magic. The Altmer will tell you that they always had the ability but lost their strength in the impurity of the world

Though talking about magic like this doesn't quite cover it. It reduces it to juju-juice for awesome-skills, it's much more integrated with the world. Bit late for that now.
