Woe is SetScript

So there's this greater power that I'm working on as part of a larger set that will technically cause npcs who are targeting you to fall exhausted for ten seconds, so long as you don't attack or cast in those ten seconds.

I also don't want the npcs to be sitting ducks ripe for the pickpocketing. However I can't create an OnActivate on the magic effect script that would prevent it. I could do a temporal script change, except I read on the wiki that it is discouraged since its still a beta function

. So any have any alternative ideas on how to attain it?
