I wold like them to save Hammerfell for later

Post » Fri Mar 15, 2013 3:19 pm

Personally, I would like Bethesda to save Hammerfell for a new TES game so we can see it properly with proper quests and lore. I would maybe be ok with a Stros M'kai DLC but that's about it. Anyone else agree?

I personally don't know much about Hammerfell, so maybe giving us a taste of what it could be like would spark my interest in the place. Then after that, do a game of the entirety of Hammerfell. (So yeah, a Stros M'kai DLC, then whole Hammerfell game)

Hammerfell already has a TES game. And they were never going to add an entire province in a DLC.

Nothing is for certain that we'll be going to Hammerfell with this rumor, or whether it means something involving Redguards is planned.
The rumor involved the word 'Redguard', not 'Hammerfell'. It's best not to speculate that it'll mean we're leaving Skyrim proper.

Sure I agree. I've been saying that for a while now, I'm hoping that everyone is wrong about "Redguard" being the next dlc for skyrim. I don't mind them going back to cyrodiil, or morrowind. But provinces that haven't been featured in a modern installment of the franchise should be saved for future games. Even just a part of hammerfell, I'd rather save it for future games.

Anyone seen the moonpaths of Elsweyr mod? I think it looks fantastic :D. Doing Hammerfel is completely possible when seeing how well the sandstorms and desert settings are early in the Elsweyr mod. I dont care when they do it to be honest.. more TES always welcome :D

I'm not saying anything about the latest speculation. I'm just saying that I HOPE we go to Stros M'kai and not Hammerfell. I personally don't think it will be anything to do with the Redguards though, unfortunately. :(

Hammerfell is like Morrowind, it's been featured in part in a TES game, so it makes sense to feature a different part in a DLC. ES VI should be in a new province, one we haven't visited yet, but it should be on Tamriel.

I agree with this. Save Hammerfell for a full game set there. Dwemer ruins, Alik'r warriors, sand dunes.. And then hopefully have somewhere like Thras and Yokuda as expansions.

I'd rather High Rock, the new Orsinium (not included as Hammerfell) or Atmora as place for an expansion for Skyrim as they are better suited and have a lot less chance of being a likely candidate for a future game setting in the series. High Roch has little chance as it'll be too much like Skyrim and people would want something different.

Couldn't agree more. I really, really want see to Hammerfell. But if I had choose between a DLC now or an entire game set there later I would pick the latter every single time. Hammerfell rivals Morrowind and Summerset when it comes to lore.

I'm just fascinated by the new united Hammerfell and their Arabic culture. I want to see their armours, government, religion and armour use.

Hell yeah. TES meets 1,001 Nights meets Bushido. And the Empire and the Dominion both want a piece. Other than Alinor Hammerfell has the most story potential as of right now.

This might be some of the stuff Hammerfell DLC could be

Sword Singers= Companions
Mummies instead of Draugrs
Pyramids
The gladiator factions of each city fighting against each other
Use of Shadow Magic
More focus on mounted combat
Thalmor killing and pirate raiding

Pyramids? Mummies? The Redguard are more Arabian/Moors than Egyptian. Think middle ages spain, north africa.

Mummies aren't exclusive to Egyptians. I mean in the dry heats of the Alikr Desert even natural mummification is possible though I admit Pyramids might be unnecessary. I was thinking more Phoenician, Sassanid or Ethiopian.

Mummies? What do you think Draugr are?

Anyways.. a setting in Hammerfell would probably only give us the eastern portion by Skyrim for one reason or another.

Im not too knowledgeable about the lore and stuff, but does Hammerfell have any islands or other areas that they own like Solstheim? Thats probably the best way to do a new province in a dlc

Stros M'kai is the biggest port city apart from the imperial city in Tamriel. It's on an island just south-west of Hammerfell. The island is as big as (if not slightly bigger than) Solstheim.

I think Bethesda could take a leaf out of Ubisoft's book and release games a bit more often. Not every year like AC but every two maybe. They have the Lore, so it's just about coming up with a decent story.

And doing the graphics. And the coding. And the voice work. And the scripting. And the animations. And constructing an open worlds flora and fauna...

No work, no reward. Ubisoft seem to manage it. They don't have to be main series games. Pick a moment in TES history. If Bethesda really wanted to they could.
