Geez. Thanks for reminding me how bad rap svcks. How could anyone actually like this? Not trying to offend anyone, I just don't understand. It svcks.

Hey, you should be grateful I didn't give you a link to this song:

If you're not ashamed, not hurting anyone, & you still enjoy playing I say game on.

What about The Sims? I've heard it's pretty popular amongst girls. And it's relatively complex.

Maybe if you make them try it...one step at a time :)

Good thing you're not a moderator on these forums then ;)

Sometimes we can allow a thread that is not strictly adhering to our iron-clad embargo rules; because we're all human beings (well, most of us are anyways) with a shared love for The Elder Scrolls.

So apart from the comments about who should marry who (marry me instead!!); let's just keep this one nice and friendly and let us decide if it should be on these forums or not. :)

Cheers,

Milt

Can you please talk to my wife!?

I'm 31 and she hates that I play video games. She's huge into Twilight, Vamire Diaries, etc. and I tried to tell her that you get to "be" a vampire in TES. But it did no good.

Dude get divorced right now.

Yo I'm male 19 years old, gotta say I look forward to like 2050 when I'll be playing some kind of sick unimaginable game and bein' retired. Don't see nothin' wrong with older people gaming, in fact I believe it's gonna be much more common in some years. :)

And. of course, Shakespeare said it best: "Old age...nothing but second childhood and mere Oblivion." Such a pity that he died before he could play Skyrim.

I'm curious about the people who voted for "weird"...although I have no problem with that, it was part of the poll of course, I wonder WHY exactly women above 30 playing TES should be weird?

Any explanation for this?

I think it's awesome, and I can tell you that I will aim to play video games until I die! :D

I'm 18 and I'm looking forward to that as well! It's a shame our responsiveness and stuff will probably decrease as we hit 60+ or something though. :(

Some people find my gaming weird not so much because I'm a woman, only because I'm an advlt. One of my ex-boyfriends thought games were for kids. My Mom and her fiance don't really say anything, but when I mention gaming at all they get funny looks on their faces.

When I see a woman over 30 who wants to play Skyrim I think "I hope it's a good game," because I am that over 30 woman. Over 40 at that. I grew up with computer games and often miss the good old days, but Bethesda has been producing great games for years and still is. Why would I not be looking forward to Skyrim?

For those who think I'm weird - let me weird you out some more. I've spent most of my career as a computer programmer and Linux administrator, and I recently gave in to my long standing urge to get into game programming. I'm still getting up to speed right now learning OpenGL (Microsoft can follow Bender's Imperative), but I'm having a blast.

I do wish there were fewer young gamers, actually. Why? Because Bethesda censors its games for the teenagers and it bugs me. It's not just Bethesda, of course. Things I had been accustomed to in games of the 80's and early 90's went away in the 00's when gaming went mainstream and stopped being marketed to advlts. I'm afraid to mention anything specific because there's a thread still n the front page that just got locked because a moderator thought a verboten topic might come up.

Moriel

Actually, its more like we *know* its going to come up. example: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1157562-children-in-the-game/

If something happens 99.9 times out of 100, we're pretty sure its going to happen again. We used to lock any topics that mentioned Fargoth in the Morrowind forum because of the pointlessly graphic posts from immature posters about exactly how they killed Fargoth because 1. he's gay and 2. he came on to their character. The bosmer weren't set to recognize male or female pcs, and they used the same "idle" comments for either gender. "I think you and I are about to become very close." is apparently enough for a death sentence. Ironically enough, no one ever complained, to the best of my knowledge, that Galbedir, a female bosmer at the Mage's guild in Balmora, used the same line to their female npc.

With the exception of things that would earn the games an advlt rating, what exactly is Bethesda censoring? It certainly isn't gore, considering the bloody mess perk. Prostitution? Murder? Assassinations? Vampirism? Cannibalism? Just because I was born in 1962 doesn't mean I need XXX rated content in my video games.

Women are getting quite usual in video games now and they play just like men do most of the girls i know play video games and most of those girls play games such as Call of Duty. so gaming is quite a general thing rather than a men thing now (although men are still in a majority)

Same here! But... when I was a little girl ... my mom always said to me, that games are not for girls and sometimes even restricting me from playing.

Today... well, I don't even care what others think.

Being over twice her age I have no idea why it would seem strange to you. What do you think is a normal past time for a lady over 30? I need to know quick before I die and waste anymore time with gaming. :P

I'm a woman, 32 years now and I got a profession in law but do this only part-time at the moment. About ten years ago I loved to play RPGs, especially TES: Morrowind including the addons. Later, I tried Oblivion and I was stoked. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to play a lot.

Now, that I hear that Skyrim is going to be released, I feel myself pulled back ten years, getting excited again like as I was ten years younger, lol! :liplick:

I know that nowadays, most of the players are male and I think they're in their 20's or so.
What do you guys think? I'm going to be 33 soon...Is it kinda weird that somebody like me really want to dive into another world like Skyrim again?

Can't wait for this game!
I'm 24 and female and I will most definitely be playing RPG's when I am 30 :D

Power to older gaming peeps! I support gaming of all ages! (Though honestly I take issue with younger gamers because their the ones who usually shout into their headset mics cursing like they have no sense of vocabulary :P) :foodndrink:

I think it's awesome when people much older than me (I recently hit my 20s) are gaming. It gives me ammo to use against my mother (who is quite old fashioned) when she insists gaming is for kids.

Women playing video games??? Ridiculous! Gaming is the province of men!

...oh wait, that was war, according to Eomer :P

Some of my favorite mods for Oblivion and Morrowind are made by women close to or past thirty. My mother and my aunts are pushing seventy and chat to each other while playing online games. This is why I voted for normal.

I think it's awesome to see more and more women gamers. It still is ashame, though, that gamers especially up there in the years getting weird looks but those weird looks are from people that just don't understand what it's all about. It's entertainment, a hobby, a sport for the serious mmo raiding types and there's nothing wrong in people enjoying that. I've been gaming since Pong came out, I'm 53, I will probably be a gamer in an old folks home one day too ! We had a guy in his 80's in our guild in Age of Conan and many of our guild members were 40-50. You go girl !!! and all the rest of you posting on this.

If it's good enough for Wynne, it's good enough for me. Except may I substitute an Ipod for my knitting? :P

And now that you are running away, there is no chance I can catch you at my age.
