Won't be purchasing TES V?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 11:55 am

Hahahahah, oh sir peter moly-w/e the fk. i will never buy anything from him after fable 2. My big save game ended with a game breaking bug, that was never fixed. I would personally punch that guy in the face, assuming I knew i could get away with it with no charges, just for all the people he screwed over and disappointed. Im sure people would rejoice. I didnt follow any hype about fable 3, and wont ever buy any future product from lionhead.

Haha and Fable II was nowhere near as bad as Fable III. I liked it cause it was a bit more casual than most games, so when I'm done dungeon crawling in Oblivon I can just chill out and get some villagers drunk.

Fable III, on the other hand, was so impossibly dumbed-down and buggy that it didn't even feel like a game anymore. Then they insulted us by taking out an entire section from the game, AND removing entire articles of clothing and dyes while leaving a blank space where they should be in the game, only to make us pay for them later. If I could I would beat the [censored] out of him with you, and spit in his face. That's pretty much what he did to his fans (not that he really has any left).

My Ducati 848 broke down 2 weeks after i got it brand spankin new (electric problem) and I had to wait a month (in the summer... In canada) for the dealer to get the part for it to be ridable. I love how Ducatis look, and maybe in a few years depending on how reviews and recalls are, I might consider purchasing another one. I have other things to with my time besides games (2006 was 5 years ago, im 21 now) so I had way more time tp spend on games. Unless it gets some raving review from many sites, I won't buy it. I might play it if someone I know allows me too but wont spend the money myself. Like I said I have other interests/hobbies that keep me busy.

Also for all the ppl saying I don't know crap blah blah blah, i played yur oblivion over 1000 hours collectivy on PC and 360. I do have some semblance of what I am talking about, so maybe you should give my words and opinion more merit, even if it is different from what you believe or not your opinion. Its funny I havnt flamed any one of you, yet look at how hostile and defensive you all are! Calm down ffs.

Oh ok, well then instead of talking about how you bought a 13k$ motorcycle that came with a defective part that had to be replaced so you will never buy another, how about you address the retorts to your OP?

Don't close the topic. His concerns are quite legitimate. Are all of you really that ignorant and blind?

You just flamed one of my favorite games. Dont' say you didnt' cause ya did. Opinion this, opinion that..bleh. Ya just said that the last to games svcked, but in my opinion the last to games were pobably the funnest to play. We aren't gonna calm down, cause Oblivion is probably one of my favorite games. Why? Cause I posses what seems to be a rare ablility to look past a games flaws and see the good points it holds.

Why would I give your opinion more merit, when you're trashing some of my favorite games? You expect me to act civil? No, I will not. You diss my favorite game, saying it was one of the worst games you ever played...that's youre damn opinion. And you can have it. But dont' tell me that it svcks, cause I will disagree whole heartedly. Every fiber of my being will disagree with you. And I will let you know, that I do not agree with you. Believe me, I will let you know.

Yes, I fear this thread is eventually going to get more aggressive and insulting, but it can't be closed unless it does get out of hand, I think. (Or reach the post limit)

His concerns have been raised plenty of times already. He's not really adding anything new to those discussions. That's why it's tiresome.

Reminds me of that old Woody Allen joke:

Two elderly women are at a Catskill mountain resort, and one of 'em says, "Boy, the food at this place is really terrible." The other one says, "Yeah, I know; and such small portions."

I just won a 100 doller bet with my dad, that in the first 5 posts someone would try to be "clever" just like you. Thanks, but if you have nothing to contribute dont post anything.

He didn't 'try' to be clever....he 'was' clever...or at least I thought so. And besides, what do you expect when you create a post like that.

You may not have ever felt truly lost within the gameworld Oblivion provided, but a one-thousand hour-long journey through a place you so heavily criticize, is still a mighty long trek through the woods...even if you happen to know where you're going along the way. In my opinion, you certainly earned your 60 dollars worth of entertainment from the game so stop flaming and complaining in such a provocative way.

There are better ways to go about addressing the issues you have with the games the company makes, and if you had done it in a different way, you may have actually found a little support from some of us who share similar sentiments in some regards...but that's not what you really wanted...is it.

many people said it, and I'll just join it with them, milking games is putting out a "new" game every year that doesn't change anything, no new graphics, no new details, no new gameplay ( aka cod) but I for one am glad they expand the game universe with dlc ( play on xbox, no mods) and fallout 3 dlc were pretty darn big and fun.

The temptation to just flame this guy to hell and back is almost unbearable from what I have seen from this guys posts he probably one of those gamers who never get satisfied from a game and complain about it to their friends for hours on end (if they have any friends)

I find it funny that the OP is complaining about a videogame in a father & son team. Now that's bonding!

As much as I hate to say it, Dragonball Z games are the real milkers. They come out with a game every year, that is Oh so little more different than the last. TES is different, it comes out every 4 to 6 years, and is so much different, I can't even begin to explain. I am a huge DBZ fan, but TES are so much better it hurts me.

You're missing the point. We lament not because of what Oblivion was, but because of what it wasn't - what it could have been.

I hate to break it to you guys, but, as harsh as it is, most of what this guy says is true. I wouldn't go so far as to not purchase Skyrim, but I still fear that BGS is definitely heading in the "sell out" direction, unfortunately.

All you who deny much of what this guy says either don't possess the insight to observe the patterns, or are simply have fallen for the gradual but steady rise of the latest gimmicks of the gaming world. Just look at the trends, all the evidence is there , and I blame much of it on the changing nature of the console market. I know many of you were introduced into the Elder Scrlls series through Oblivion, so you think it's all fine and dandy, but that's simply because you've never known anything else. I looked forward to Oblivion with all my heart, and I was let down. In my eyes, the simplification (or consolization, if you will), almost butchered the series beyond redemption. I can only hope Bethesda wakes up soon, rather than taking the safe route simply to amount greater sales.

I don't think Oblivion butchered the series beyond description. Compared to Morrowind, Oblivion did come off as being very weak, and making it for a large console playing audience, they oversimplified many aspects of the game, with a very poor art direction in my opinion (Something I'm glad they broke off from with Shivering Isles), but I still enjoyed the game very much and played the hell out of it. I hope they get a bit more creative and take some risks with Skyrim, and from what I've seen so far, I don't think I'll be disappointed. They've already introduced the series to a large audience, so I hope they're ready to take that audience further into the Elder Scrolls world.

Can't wait for Skyrim. I'll play it for 1000 hours easily - just like you played Oblivion for 1000 hours. I'm going to play it because I like it though. Why did you play Oblivion for that long? (I only read the first paragraph of your post so sorry if you've already answered that question.)

The topic can stay open if people can remain civil in their discussion. If I have to keep deleting or editing posts because of the flaming and flamebaiting, it's not going to remain open.

Couldnt agree more. Dragonball Z Budokai 3 was my fav DBZ game ever, all the transformations everything... ugh, the finishing moves!!! Everything imo, went downhill from that game, im no longer interested in the DBZ gaming francise.

Every time someone completely trashes Bethesda like this i just can't help but concoct a conspiracy theory in my head of rival game developers sending moles into the community to try and slow the hype machine that is at work here.

Bethesda is what it is and it has zero competition. Like it or not they are getting bigger and stronger with every release. It's OK if you don't buy Skyrim, 5 million other people will so feel free to kick rocks any time and don't let the door hit ya.

Yes I did, oh so much I did. Seriously, it hurts me so much. Morrowind was better than Oblivion? Ha. Combat was so much better in Oblivion. Each game has its own plusses and minus'. Comparing games to past instalments just isn't fair. Oblivion didn't do a lot of things right, but it did get a few. And fallout 3 was a fun game for me. Why? Hell, I don't know, it was entertaining to me. Its unfair to tell me that two of my favorite games svcked, cause that's your opinion. Not mine. Mine is that Oblivion and Fallout where two of the greatest games of my highschool career. You don't have to like that. But sticking it in my face is just as fame worthy as a lot of other things this forum now holds. I'm going to stick up for my games.
