I wonder if companions will ride horses?

Post » Wed Oct 19, 2011 6:05 pm

I know some don't really care for horses. Me neither really, especially real ones. But maybe my (in game) wife does. Can I get her one? Will she ride it?

I think it would be kinda cool to get a small group of fallowers to ride into battle with me.

What do you guys think?

Well we atleast know the AI supports it as we saw this a couple of times in Oblivion. I guess the real question is if you purchase two horses will they know to ride one of them? Maybe some come with their own horse. This could be a good question to ask Pete. I don't think it goes into spoiler territory.

In the title, you put a question mark after a statement. Are you unsure of yourself? jk

Will companions ride horses? They did in Oblivion, so they should in Skyrim.

A lot of people do that after "I wonder" or "maybe" sentences. Enough to make me ponder whether or not it's grammatically correct...

Well NPCs and companions are two seperate things. One's path is scripted, the other's would be dynamic and dependant on the player's.

Ooops hahaha.

In ob you could have people from a guild fallow you. If you jumped on a horse the npc would fallow you on foot. I just think it would be neat if they could have there own horse. Either purchased or stolen.

I think that's how dogs will be. The other companions will probably take their time like they did in Fallout.

That would be cool, actually.

I get the feeling that the Companions GUILD (not companions ) will involve lots of horse-riding, as the symbol of Whiterun (their HQ) is a horse head. Historically, Alexander the Great had a cavalry called the Companions.

Oblivion only had NPC's who explicitly owned a horse ride a horse. So if it's anything like that the random NPC you acquire as a companion won't own a horse and will not be able to ride one.

Mods mods mods. I love mods.

Can you imagine the guildmaster rounding up a group of dragoons outside Whiterun's main gates?
