I wonder if Fallout 4 will have the same PC Specs as Skyrim.

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 4:17 pm

I am wondering because this is update engine but at the same time the Graphic while great as they are a little above Skyrim. And since this more of a memory based game cause of the scripting I wonder how cpu heavy its going to be and I wonder if it going to be 64bit based I hope so because how Fallout 3 ran on 32bit OS and with modding I hope we dont have to have a 4gb enabler.

Haha, well since I haven't upgraded my computer for the past three years, I'd be okay with that.

I don't know, we also have a new console generation, and let's face it, the console hardware is probably also something that has kept PC requirements down. But we'll see, it probably won't be super demanding, but I bet it will be more demanding than Skyrim.

Between Morrowind and Oblivion there was a new console generation and a rather large leap in game requirements. I expect something similiar this time too. So no, I don't think Fallout 4 will have the same game requirements as Skyrim.

If you want to make it look as decent as Skyrim on Ultra, it will probably be a tad more demanding, BUT enabling the new features, like volumetric lighting, ambient occlusion etc. will definitely raise the specs a bit. I still don't think it will be as demanding, as say Witcher 3.

Many games like DA:I support previous gen consoles, One, PS4 and PC get an upgraded version with better textures like Skyim on PC.

On the other hand the jump from xbox 0 to 350 was larger than the jump from 360 to One. One is just 6x stronger in graphic.

However Fallout 4 is designed to run at full hd on One so it don't push the hardware very hard.

It also depend on how well the game scales, ESO scales so far down I can run it on an laptop with integrated grapic. No it don't look good but its playable outside of PvP who is 10 times as demanding in huge fights.

Don't think Fallout 4 scales so well, my guess is that if you can run Skyim on ultra with the hd texture pack. You can run Fallout 4.

If you struggle with Skyrim you can not run it.

That's a relief if it's true. My computer runs Skyrim with absolutely no problems. I don't need Fallout 4 to look it's prettiest, but if the games looks at least as good as Skyrim and runs just as well then I'm a happy camper.

We do not know for sure until we get the specs. I would not trust the minimum specs on the PC. Since quite often those specs the gameplay might not be that good. To me on the PC the minimum specs are usually the recommended specs.

I hope the minimum requirement is not very high( I wish it is lower than The Witcher 3 ). I do not want to constantly buy or upgrade computer just to play game.

  • Complaints: The graphics svck, make the graphics / fps / better !
  • Complaints: Requirements are too high, don't want to upgrade my PC for this !

Seems a thankless task to satisfy these needs, I wonder how game designers make a game that looks photo-realistic on top-end rigs,

but that will also run on a potato...

Since both consoles are 64 bit its safe to assume the PC version will do 64 bit.

Maybe you should spend a hour playing Skyrim with default texture quality and then go back to watch Fallout 4 then, a bit unfair comparing the mental image you have from a modded Skyrim with a vanilla Fallout 4 ;3

I don't know maybe optimizing their game instead of cheaping out and outsourcing it to half wits like High Voltage and rushing it out the door?

Valve is the only company I know that makes optimization a number one priority and that's a damn shame.

I play every game vanilla I dont usually mod games until a year after wards because I want to do everything twice in a game before modding so you comment is on some slick talk.

And I also made that statement on the modding part because I want to maximumize my game after like I did with Fallout 3 ,New Vegas and Skyrim I play still play my games this day so I want to know these question because i want a 7 to 8 year experience like did with Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

But you do play Skyrim modded now, hence your brain is (if nothing else, subconsciously) unfairly comparing the textually modded Skyrim to a vanilla Fallout 4.

Regarding memory I say it will be an 64 bit program, One and PS4 are 64 bit, having 5-6 GB memory for game including graphic memory. Limit PC to 3.8 GB is likely to generate problems and its pointless anyway.

Fallout 4 will not run on 32 GB windows as it only gives 2 GB to game, 1 to windows and 1 to graphic.

What are you talking about the reason I brought that up has nothing to do with subconscious I am saying I run Skyrim with all of that going on that is my point what are you even talking about did you even read the comments before. Homie you on one for real. Its I dont want to have to upgrade my spec's if I dont have too. Do you even play on PC are you in too talk psychology.

I did not complaints, I just hope they can did that. My computer can run some photo realistic game on low setting smoothly but some cannot. All of them released in same year and they are extremely realistic and beautiful when running on ultra settings.

I am not complaining either just want to know because Nov 10 is not that far away and I would like to so i can make plains my GTX 960 is not the problem I am mored worried about the scripting because that uses your CPU and the graphics is not really the problem.

What if I can play it on ultra but with some lag (happens with some particle effects)? I once tried an enb and it made me go at 10 FPS.

Then scale down your expectations of Fallout 4 accordingly. Most of it is educated guesswork based on graphical comparison and the general hope that optimisation will be as good as it was for Skyrim (which may not be the best in the industry, but compare it to Oblivion).

Ultra with some fps drop, I'd think would compare with medium-high on Fallout 4. Part of the issue is people don't always specify the difference between "run" and "run well". I can run Skyrim on max settings and not suffer any fps drop. While I expect I will be able to make Fallout 4 theoretically run at max settings, I don't expect anywhere near the same fps. I'll be happy with high, with some of the more ridiculous features turned down a bit to maintain a nice framerate.

I'm still wondering, based on that article that if my gf's laptop can play skyrim then if I get a good refurbished laptop for pricing between 400 and 500 can I play the game?
