I wonder how much of a fortune Bethesda would make if they r

It's obviously a good idea, would make tons o money, and SHOULD be done. I mean, the fans of Morrowind, would definitely partake, and you'd also get all the fans from Oblivion in on the action. I guess I would just like to see the last generation of the elder scrolls, be available and more appealing to the next generation of gamers. Morrowind was perfect, and I don't like that it is going to be forgotten and left behind. Yes, yes, I know that Morrowblivion exists, but I'm not interested in the mod, I want Morrowind, fully polished by the game developers themselves. Not patched up and jimmy-rigged into being playable. Discuss.

I'm happy with the way Morrowind is. I can't see them making it exactly the same without changing stuff to try and attract the crowd that never played Morrowind originally. It is a good idea but I couldn't ever see it happening and turning out great.

Hmm.... I definitly can't see them doing it and I would definitly prefer them to do other provinces first. This would allow for more diversity, more lore and for better tech to come out so when the time comes for them to remake morrowind (IF they remake morrowind) it will look amazing.

Keep it text only though. I'm not a fan of Bethesda's habit of using 5 expensive and famous voice actors for 1000 NPCs. If they did it with the same money using 1000 random people off the street it would be better for my taste, but I don't see that happening.

I kind of see your point. Venturing into the realm of revamping what so many devoted people see as great, could be disastrous, but I just can't shake the feeling of how much fun this game could be.

I completely disagree. I think they should just make their next game be a happy medium between Daggerfall and Morrowind, then we'd never have to buy a game again. :P

Not one revamped to be the same as Oblivion, no.
Besides, Morrowind+Better Bodies+MGE+Retextures is more than good enough for me.

Complete waste of time and money. If Morrowind is perfect to you, it doesn't need a [censored] remake, and the Elder Scrolls series doesn't need to be hung up a few more years just to repeat the same ground it's already covered. [censored], both Oblivion and Fallout 3 already looks dated, how long do you think a facelifted Morrowind is going to look top of the line before it's, in your words "forgotten and left behind?"

Bethesda would make very little IMO. Morrowind has been done and dusted already, TES fans would just be pissed because they didn't release another game instead of just a remake.

That's what mods are for.

A dedicated community of modders who constantly work to make Morrowind look/feel as good as recent games is better then anything Bethesda could ever do with a Morrowind remake.

Maybe, I never really did play much of morrowind and a re-vamp would be nice. Even still though I would much rather see a TES V.

Really? It possibly could work for races like Imperials, Bretons, Redguards and Nords, but the voiceacting for the Beast and Elven races would be atrocious. Granted, I don't see much point in hiring famous actors, but hiring amateur strangers seems ludicrous to me. Not to mention it's not as simple as you make out: if they hire 1000 people, they would run out of disk space.

Using the same voice files for different characters also saves disc space.

It isn't just the dev's being lazy bastards.

'Course they could have had a bit more variety(just 2-3 more voices for the standard races that all sounded the same would have done wonders.)

I'd have to disagree, maybe 10 years from now. There just wouldn't be enough of a difference if it was remade today. Oblivion is more popular and well known than Morrowind (I'm not saying it's better, that's down to individual taste). Even in 10 years, who's going to remember or even be bothered about Morrowind (except for its fans). Take FF7 that would do really well if they remade it, after 13 years it's still very popular and someone told me you can get it at the Playstation store, I doubt Morrowind will be remebered much 13 years from now.

Pretty bad idea. User mods have given Morrowind just as good if not better graphics then Oblivion. Also, it would waste Bethesda time and resources that could go to TES V.

Anyway, Morrowind is perfectly fine and enjoyable the way it is now.

I think you're wrong.

Morrowind will be remembered,it has a lot of fans that won't be forgetting about it.

I do agree though,a "new" Morrowind now would be worthless.

I doubt I would even buy it,I'm perfectly happy with my Morrowind as it is.

It has its fans but compared to a game like FF7, it comes a distantant second. Besides Arena and Daggerfall would be better choices for a remake as there would be a huge difference in looks etc. but I honestly don't think a remake of them could be justified, financially.

TESV: Return to Morrowind.

I'll strangle a small, fluffy animal if that happens.

Not that I don't love morrowind..but it seems like we have been waiting so long for TES:V and there isn't even much proof it exists as of now..having it end up in some place we have already seen would be very disappointing. :(
