I wonder what inspired the nanosuit...?

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 4:03 pm

So how did Crytek come up with the idea of an advanced exoskeleton to make ordinary soldiers kick more ass?

There are many many possibilities and the nanosuit is probably the result of all the wildest ideas combined into one.

If any of you have seen the film Tuxedo, that is what I call the nanosuit that you wear to parties.

I'd think it was Iron Man, minus the jet boosters and pewpew lasers.

Apparently it was inspired by actual military concepts at the time. I doubt very much it was modeled on Iron man.

There have been a lot of movies and games where X person aquires a suit that enhances their abilities, its nothing new and Crytek didnt "come up with it". This is just their spin on that concept.

I think the Predator movie probably had the most inspiration with the jungle and everything. Though the jungle was already in Crytek's DNA from Far Cry. :P

The idea of an "Intelligent" exoskeleton is as old as the world itself.

who will win?

The inspiration of almost any video game with a super solder and aliens would most likely be Halo. As for the suite itself i have no idea.

Some of you may be fanboys and may not like this comment but Halo IS ans will REMAIN for a long time the video game FPS developers will look up too.

yes halo may be more of fps that developers will look up to, however this game is more of a war of the world movie than any game, except the part that include a human in a super suit

The book is better, you guys think Crytek left a bunch of plot holes becuase they forgot? The game is only half the story, the book tells all. Like at the very end of the game, yes it is confirmed, alcatraz is dead, he says it himself, hargreave says it,and so does the medical team, There is 100% proof that Alcatraz is dead in the suit, the joke here is that before he died his memories and thoughts were transferred in time to the suit, this concept is actually ground breaking. You actually play as the suit in the game, the suit just need a nervous system to operate, so it decided, why not use a dead guy?

You may be asking why Alacatraz? because to put on the suit nearly kills you, why not putting it near death?

Second, in the end, its not alca-prophet that rises, just alcatraz, but hes experiencing as we all knew in the game, prophets memories, which he says he F***in; hates, he comments that if he knew the suit would be haunted he would have has second thoughts about wearing it.

All in all, the story behind the game is one of the best, and yes crysis 1 does transition smoothly into the second, its not a dropped story line, ask me anything about the game, it has an answer for sure.

PS: as furthur proof alcatraz is dead hes missing his heart. Which der, no air, which der again means no vioce, not until the end of the game after he reboots does he figure out how to use the suits voice synthesizer.

I saw that book on Amazon once, almost bought it too but didn't know if it was some random bogus.

But you think a videogamer of the norm would even bother to touch those hideous objects called "Books?" WAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ROFLMAO!!!

Not in a thousand years.

one comment, the game is based on the book, not the book based on the game, you want the full story? Read the book.

The idea of powered suits of armor has been around for a LONG time... Starship Troopers (the BOOK, not the movie) was written in 1959, and it has very detailed depictions of powered suits of armor, even talks about these special sighting instruments inside the helmet.

The idea has been there for a long time, but it has just evolved, that's all. CryTek definitely put a whole new spin on it, though.

Stop being ignorant. You think crysis 2.0 is the first crysis or the first one with a nano suit? try reading; Crysis 1.0 was released in 2007, WAY before the FIRST ironman movie.

What does ironman have to do with his post?

Also super suits in general is nothing new. the word "NANO" is just a word they use to define there suit. At the base it is still a "Super Suit" makes no difference on how it works.
