Wondering if anyone can help with my file size

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 1:42 pm

So i'm in the UK and i have the Xbox one digital download of fallout.. I've also noticed that on the store it says that the game should be 28GB big... my download is only 25.7GB big.... would this perhaps mean that i have got the faulty stub file and need to redownload??? Just wondering if anyone out than can help with this?

Have you read the sticky about XB One downloads on the front page?

I've read the sticky in the forum if that's what you mean? but it says nothing of file size.. and the details on it are a bit sparse.... it doesn't really say how you'd identify if its the stub file.....

Also thought i'd add the image on my Xbox One is of the vault boy with this thumb up..... not sure if that is what it's meant to be as the store page has the picture of the power armor....

is your thumbnail picture on the game library that of a power armor helmet or the vault boy??? wonder if maybe the thumbnail might represent whether its a placeholder???

Mine says 25.7 too mate, literally tried everything. It's a placeholder file anyway so when Bethesda upload the pre-load to the Xbox store this week or the 9th(not likely this late) Then all you'll need to do in uninstall and re-install and it SHOULD be good to go... I think. I'm a bit confused too but I've pre-ordered many games so i PRESUME it will be this way.

I remember that the file size when I first pre-ordered in June was like a 100Kb file. Then when they announced the pre-download it jumped to 28+ GB. So I think the stub file was only the 100KB placeholder that original downloaded when I first ordered. I live in the US. It couldn't hurt to delete it and re-download it if you are worried though.

Mine is the vault boy as well. It might just be a temp icon showing that you have it preloaded and are just waiting for the game to be unlocked and have the last bit of data to be downloaded to allow playing as well as the Day 1 patch with any last minute fixes and likely a few last minute bugs and glitches that comes with the latest patch as well.

Also we are likely going to have the big OS upgrade to Win 10 shortly as well

Ok! Let me say this. I believe if your file is 25.7GB/28.1GB and it took a few hours to download you're fine, i think. + No the pre-load hasn't started yet. Pete Hines said it hasn't, but it'll likely be this weekend (Sat/Sun) The file we have at the moment is a placeholder file.

+ I THINK the UK dashboard downloads a 25.7GB version and the US downloads a 28.1GB version as the US version may contain extra language files.

They've already said the full file size for xbox is 28.1

Mine has already downloaded the full size and the game thumbnail is still pip boy. Maybe it will change once the game can be played? Idk. But it looks like it is all downloaded and done just needs unlocked.

In mind that there is 27 versions of the game so you can't say they are all 28.1GB. I think if it's 28.1/25.7 and it took a while then you're good. You haven't got the "stub" file.

Yeah for sure. I was just commenting on the pre-load which was made available after the 29th I believe. That's in the US mind you, I'm not sure if different regions had restrictions on preload

I don't think pre-load is available yet, it's just a placeholder. Pete Hines on Twitter that it should be a few days and that was yesterday, but don't quote me.

I believe it was a download since it was downloading my internet speed was quite limited and that was for hours. I have a 50 MegaBit connection that is for the most part running close to that speed.

There is likely still some data that needs to be downloaded to unlock it.

Some regions might not have been opened up for pre-download.

Yeah unless it's more than 28.1gb, it's the preload. When I go into manage games and fallout4 it does show the 28.1
