Wood Chopping. Am I missing something?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 8:18 pm

What is the point in chopping wood? I really cant see a reason other than watching the animation. Also when you use the saw mill as well.
There is aobviously a reason for mining ore, collecting ingredients, cooking food. But is there any benefit at all for chopping wood?

Money with zero risk involved.
Also the low level bows require wood to upgrade.

Ahh interesting. Thats right I did make a few gold selling chopped wood. Not really worth the effort though.

Apparently it's some players way of grinding gold at low level. I believe there is also a misc. objective involved with getting some wood for a certain npc.

I always preferred smithing stuff to make money in the game and then later on enchanting to make big money. Never tried the chopping wood thing for money though. I do however like to watch the animation of the log cutting machine, but there is nopay for that, that I am aware of...

the first reaosn is oyu can make a respectable amount of money out of firewodd if oyu sell it, and as stated its "risk free" ( though i dought anything is risk free in skyrim!!) the second-and main reason however is to enhance roleplaying for those of us who roleplay non-fughter non-mage normal people form time-to-time , but i imgine with one of those naked body mods the naimation would be quite entertaing shall we say :P

Now if anybody can tell me the reasons for the mills I will be happy,
Yes I saw the manual operated ones as a personal Easter egg.

I always thought it was a mechaism involved to refrsh the wood you can take from the chopping block, but I haven't tried so I can't confirm.

You can chop wood all day from the same pile, no refreshing needed. There doesn't seem to be any reason to use the sawmill that I can see, but it's amusing to watch my tiny breton girl heft a giant log like she's a trained lumberjack.

sisters are doing it for themselves aye ?

i know beth had to do a lot of these things , such as non homphobic and compelte equility, and dont get me wrong im all for it, but it seems unrealistic that i na world like skyirm a women would be allowed to do anything that a man could do or that gay parnteship has 100% absoloute acceptance

but yeah! "sisters are doing it for themselves! :thanks: go beth!!! :teehee:

Interesting comments. Yeah the saw mill is just pointless.
The idea of a way of getting gold at low level is good, but I am finding in Skyrim it is not difficult to find gold.
If it was more like Morrowind then fair enough; it was very difficult to make gold at the start.

It is easy to get rich in this game. I think anyway, between missions, hocking loot, and all of the other ways to make money. I would find mines, mine them til they are dry and then take the raw materials, make ingots and from that make jewelery or weapons and sell them for a healthy profit, plus get my Smithing Skill way up there...As for chopping wood...It doesn't seem as though it would be all that profitable...

I made like 800 gold in an in-game day while reading the forums by making Faendal chop wood from sunrise until sunset for me. That's right elf, I helped you, now I OWN you.
