Not that I'm put off by it, but why did you go for a bald head rather than a head of hair? I suppose you appreciate the glow of faces too much, hm?
Aside from the fact that it was a lot easier than rendering all that hair (:P) it conveys more of a sense of loss. I wouldn't go so far as to say she had her hair burned off, or felt the need to cut it off as a way of grieving, just that visually it also says that something's been lost.
