[reqz] Wooden grave resource

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 9:02 am

For those who haven't been following the UVII wipz thread:

I've been adding a system that allows you to bury your dead. Basically if you have a shovel then you can click on a corpse and it'll go away. If however you click while holding a certain key down, The body is replaced with a headstone. Shortly that headstone will be turned into a container, containing all the stuff previously owned by the corpse and when you click on the gravestone while holding a shovel you'll be able to dig up the contents. The headstone has a default epitaph saying "here lies the body of %n" where %n is the name of the dead NPC. If I can get the text entry stuff from OBSE working you'll also be able to change that to a custom epitaph.

Anyway, the problem that I have is that a big stone headstone seems a little immersion breaking. Who carries that around with them? What I need is a makeshift looking wooden one (not a cross as that seems unsuitable for cyrodiil) and ideally i'd like there to be some freshly dug earth in front of it. I'm sure you can visualise what I mean.

So that's it really. Does anyone either know of a suitable resource or feel like making one for me?

Thanks,

HeX

If you're willing to wait 1-5 days, I'll do this for you. Can't be certain when I'll complete it, but I can finish it this weekend probably.

EDIT: Actually, I might just retexture some stones from the Barabus Crypt Tileset resource. Would that be okay? The large headstones are too big for what you want, but the resource has some smaller headstones that might be more what you are looking for. I've got no problem waiting, and no problem with a retex of one of those headstones, or even just a retex of a vanilla gravestone, though i'm still hoping for the slightly raised soil in front of/around it...

Thanks for doing this Fiore, it'll make a big difference to the immersion level of the mod :)

Okay then. I'll start up tomorrow.

Also, I'll contact daMage about the desert mounds available in this mod. Might be able to use them.
