A word from Crytek

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2009 2:05 pm

Honestly mods, if you're the ones keeping us is in the loop for updates u should know what the devs are working on and if you don't then it's just sad that in this age the right hand doesn't know what the left is up to. In fact it's unforgivable. Customer service and transparency , I highly recommend it. I know you're all busy at the moment and applaud your efforts but it is no excuse. You should not come out unprepared.

One can still believe (and probably that's a fact) that Crytek weren't ready for the workload. I'm not sure how it went with Crysis but i believe that with Crysis 2 they're having a handful

They were ready enough to fix the demo.

Why should the full release demand more than they can do for the demo? Number of players isn't relevant, fix one copy and you fix them all.

Something's not right here.

I don′t want to be the host ... i just like many others just want the host not to have advantage over others.

Playing and online multiplayer is supposed to be fun, addictive but also leveled but right now Crysis2 is everything but that. The few games i′ve played with "normal" connection i had such a blast - and don′t get me wrong i′m no pro, but having a score 11-4 (for example) makes me a happy man :)
I don′t care about boosters, i don′t care about leaderboards, i play to have fun and to forget my daily work problems, xbox is an escape to real life problems - so i′ve invested in Crysis2 because i believe it′s fresh, it′s gorgeous and it will build a great community online just like CoD and Battlefield, all diferent games, all games i like to play ...

Right now i see this game going to the same path as Op Flashpoint Dragon Rising - multiplayer had so many problems that the game died in 2 weeks ... no word from devs during all the rant and after a couple of months producers say that no patches would be released and they were working on a new title for the next year (Red River).

I hope Crytek follows a diferent path...
hehehe, I also got caught up in the Op Flahpoint Dragon Rising fiasco! I looked forward to that game so much, and it was a TOTAL bomb. Their next release will definitely be a rental for me.

Now I would say C2 problems aren't near as bad as Op Flash, but I am hoping C2 is working through the issues. An update was released today, so that's a good sign. I heard CRYTom sent a tweet saying it was to take care of cheaters, which is a good start. Just hoping there's a MP update soon!

There will be more patches, I'm sure of it. For a game like this, they won't just leave it like this. Stop stressing people! Lol ;)

Why do you think they gave the PS3 a rubbish demo [ it was terrible, looked worse than a PS2 game] only a week before the game came out and took it down after 2 days because it was crap, and never said anything about it or defended it even though everyone was cancelling their pre-orders. While the Xbox 360 got the best demo out the lot and the erliest and it got patched... and was up for the longest... Don't you think Crytek would wan't to say to the PS3 user's, 'Dont worry this isn't the actual game' or something like that? make some sort of statement? they said absalutly nothing even with every1 saying im getting the 360 version instead or im cancelling. They obviously wanted the Xbox version to sell as much as possible. I think the word that springs to mind is Micro$oft and a nice little deal going down. It worked though, look at the sales...

Quit with the lame conspiracy theories people. The Xbox 360 selling more is the free market at work and nothing else. No deals, Xbox is the preferred platform of most gamers today and that's why it does better in sales. It is also closer to a pc than the ps3 is so therefore coding for the xbox is easier for devs than the ps3. Just the facts.

mayhem miller: I see where you are coming from. I played to ps3 demo before it was taken down and it was awful, so I bought the 360 version (played patched beta as well). Sad thing is, the retail version of both consoles plays like the ps3 demo because that was the certified release code and it was too late to push back release date. They went backwards from having good 360 beta code (less stuff in beta) to trash code for many users upon release when they added in all maps, gun, modules etc.

Deman so does that mean they should bring out an xbox demo that works well 3 weeks before the game comes out to test it proply, BEFORE THE PC which is where they came from. and then fix anything rong with the xbox demo make sure its working properly [why? its a demo...and better than the PC's anyway.....] and then put an unbeleivibly bad demo on the PS3 a week before the game releases..... only to take it down 2 days after..... The whole point [or what should be the whole point] in a demo is to bring it out to test the game then fix issues [1 week?], and make it look good so people buy it.....

does any of that make sense to you? comone they had plenty of time to plan the launch of this game and is one of the most important things when selling a game or should be anyway. read that and tell me thats not stupid. they are facts right there.

Exactly shia, Ino allot of my friends who have both the PS3 and Xbox all got the Xbox verison even tough some of them play the PS3 and wanted that version. this made them get the 360 version and even when it came out theres loads of problems all round. while they made sure the 360 demo was the best it can be.

I wish Crytek could answer your post because what they did pre launch is mind boggling.

Harder to code for PS3. What part of that don't you understand? Also, the most likely reason the demo was xbox first is because that is how the demo would be most widely distributed to the masses. More players on Xbox live. Simple as that. If you want to think it's a conspiracy against the PS3 then go ahead and think that. No skin off my back.

of course its harder [different] to code for the PS3 everyone knows that. that doesn't mean anything here though..... they already made the game..... had years planning it , means nothing, that demo wasn't the actual game, it was an old build., they could have done a good demo [like the actuall game that was alrady made, they didnt make a game in a week, that demo was a completely different game probly a year old], quite easily [they had 4 years]. What happened to the PC? their demo wasnt very good and came out after the xbox demo. if anything it should have been the best demo.

this game had potential to be one of the top games of the year. I have played the campaign as much as I can put up with it. It's truly a shame that all of the bugs and glitches have put a huge damper on the experience. Non stop freezing in both multiplayer and single player, random spikes in music volume and all the other issues people have been mentioning. I'm lucky if i get 3 mp games in without freezing or pixilation issues which inevitably result in freezing at the end of the game. As much as i hate to admit it, the game is nearly unplayable on my xbox 360. An update fixing these problems would be a godsend. The game is amazing and it needs to be revived so to speak.
