I asked the greybeards where a word of power was and I was sent on my quest. Once I got over to the word wall it was making that crackling noise before I even got close. When I did get close the screen didnt get dark and nothing appeared on the wall like it should have, just the annoying crackling noise. I don't get my word and I feel like I'm going to have to restart my character since loading a save doesn't work either. Anyone know of any solutions to this problem?

Cells don't always render right. Leave the dungeon or level in the dungeon, save the game (new slot just in case), then reboot your platform (just to clear any cell cache) and load up the game/save again.

Also, you may not be standing in just the right spot. I have had to move around to get the word to be learned.

I just got to that wall of dragon shouts, and have no idea. You can't use the Whirlwind to teleport past the audible wall. I think it has something to do with a gentle meeting, after you go way upleft on the map.
