2077 - Ft. Meade, MD.
As the news of the coming nuclear war heads reaches Ft. Meade, the Highest ranking officer on base ordered all wemon and children residents be sent in the vast network of air tight bunkers, practically a city beneath the Fort. The unamed officer orders remaning troops to escort any people in nearby towns that will accept the shelter. There was a long period of silence below fort meade after the bombs fell, the people unsure what was they're fate was to be. Until one day, on May 22nd, 2096 The highest ranking officer of the military remnant sent out a party of six to look for any sign of life, make contact, and return. The Six never came. The Six, would become the subject of great importance in the underground city. The Officer now declared that all residents be trained in military fashion. The officer realized that he needed all of his people on board, should the need to defend the city arise, and what if the water purifier broke? They would need to make contact with someone. The six are now the "dieties" of "Stonewall", as the underground city would be named. Ancestor woship caused the people to want to find out... what happend to the six? why did they never return? Another group was sent out, this happening December 12th, 2098. This group would make the trip back, but not before hearing of what was to the north. The group encountered a tribe who lived in the old city of Anapolis, MD. The tribals who inhabited the city retained alot of knowledge from the pre-war days, mostly construction, they became adept at building boats, but more noteably, Piers, where they built they're homes. The tribals called themselves The "Pilers" (Pile being the support you drive into the ground underneath the water to build a pier, or dock. The group from Stonewall heard terrible news from the friendly tribals, A city not far north, was overrun with raiders, the "walking dead" and other horrors. The triblas told of stories of bodies nailed to old smoke stacks, small ponds, filled with blood, and human remains.
This news was startling, so the group returned with they're findings. The commanding officer, shocked with the news of an entire city overrun with those who prey on others. He knew what had to be done but as he would soon see, leading his men to the city.. the old city of Baltimore, he would never have the man power to take control of the city. Upon surveying the city, it was obvious that it was filled with hundreds, if not thousands of raiders. Though stonewalls population is, in 2098 756, the officer is not willing to risk lives for a bold attack.
By 2198, 100 years later Stonewall is a thriving, self sufficent community. All men and wemon are trained in the Military way, also, along with 100 years of exploring the surrounding wastes has tought them, they can't rely on others to help them, they must survive in the wastes, in turn making them well known survivalists. Tales from surrounding tribes, and communities tell of men and wemon in small groups, wearing gas mask helmets, with combat armor and dark grey military trench coats patrolling the wastes of central maryland, shooting any raider on sight, ensuring communities and tribes in the area can trade, but most of all, survive. After all, the people of stonewall are equiped with a seemingly endless ammount of varying weapons, not to mention the urban Riot Armors found in the bases armories.
In 2282, one Daniel who grew up in stonewall, was tasked with "border duty" along with his brother Marcus. Guarding the "border of civilization" between Stonewalls' allies, and the raiders of Baltimore, which consisted of 3 major "tribes", together called themselves the six nine fives (the beltway of baltimore is 695, this is "the border" or raider controlled territory each tribe has taken a number, 6,9,5.
Thats it so far, would love more ideas. after all its a work in progress.
